#4000 The Panthers and Charlotte

I hope the Panthers stay in Charlotte forever, but pro football is a business. Owners usually go wherever they want, as long as they can get what they want. Occasionally, you'll find an owner who loves a hometown or area and wants their team to play there, but let's say something happens to Jerry and the family (or the new owners, whomever they be) decide to sell it? Would the new owners stay? Would they demand upgrades to Bank of America or maybe a newer stadium (for free)? I would just say NEVER is a strong word.

I do believe though as far as this move goes, you will probably see Jacksonville move although I don't think that'll be easy. I heard that they are stuck there until 2027? Well, apparently they can get out of the contract if they suffer three straight seasons of poor attendance. I can't help but think of the movie Major League and the owner of the Indians wanting to move her team to Miami. :)

If your LA and you are going to build this ultra expense stadium before you have a team, you pretty much are contacting every single team and at least asking them, which is why I feel the Panthers were brought up.

I do believe you have to put Minnesota, Raiders and Rams on the radar before even bringing up Carolina or Jacksonville though.

I was just expecting more... Like the big post you made a little while back. The change of heart one...it was a thing of true beauty.

This was good though, just not on the same level as that one

Thanks for the very nice comment about the change of heart post. Sorry this one did not meet your expectations. Thought it had a similar spirit....but I did not put in the same time or energy. Prolly blunted by crazy and excessive demands at work.

Who knows what the future will bring. Maybe I will get a good inspiration. Again, I appreciate the nice comment. Glad you like the other post.

Honestly, I think that post was single handedly the best thing I have ever read ANYWHERE about the Panthers. That should go in their Locker room somewhere imho. Undoubtedly the best post this forum has ever seen! Don't be down on yourself about 4000. Instead embrace the fact that you have set the bar that High!

    • Im not firm on many things football, but this statement or belief or strategy I am 100% for. Full Offseason the goal is to make the playoffs. Week 1, 1000% I want to win. Weeks 2-10,  1000% I want to win. Until the math stats 0.000000000% chance at NO playoffs, I want to win. *Once* there's no chance at the playoffs, I want to 100% lose every game until the end. You are still loser at 2-15 or 5-12, I want to never lose like this again. I want the best value for losing and suffering. Again the only goal is playoffs. Once in the playoffs anything can happen, I want to win the whole dam show. If you happen to lose in the first round, that's perfectly fine and lets work hard this upcoming off-season to get another chance to make them.  This is the ONLY way to play in the NFL. Anyone not understanding this method of strategy, please call your doctor for a visit...
    • Purdy's good but at the end of the day you're paying first class money for a business class seat.  It's a big problem with the salary cap.  QBs take most of it whether they are Pat Mahomes or not.
    • Purdy saved the 49ers from that three 1st picks for Trey Lance. People forget that. People also forget he should have MVP votes for the 23 season. He's been any where from the 8th(his best/23) to 14th ranked QB, he's legit and guys around top 10 get paid as QBs.....guys in 28th get paid too, he's 4x the QB Trevor Lawrence is and better than BY by miles as well...even without CMC, Samuel(whos a RB playing WE), and half the OL.    *BUT*    You non-believers missed this ultra important mistake that honestly made me reconsider all the praise I gave him. https://www.si.com/nfl/49ers/news/49ers-qb-brock-purdy-throws-blind-40-percent   That's is damming to my case and reset my thinking of his. That's nuclear scary now and I need some time.  too honest for me to overlook.
