Allen is #28 by McShay, he's not on Mel's Big Board and he's #22 by CBS. Not saying he's not good and he could very well shoot up the rankings during the next few months. As of right now he seems like more of a reach than Taylor Lewan or Sheldon Richardson.

not a reach in the 8-12 range, better prospect than Blackmon last year. again he is the #9 prospect on Rangs big board on cbs.Lewan had trouble vs Bama and will get another shot at improving his stock by going vs Clowney. Richardson is a decent 3 tech or projects to a 5 tech, but struggles when you run at him.not very stout in that aspect, but can disrupt plays.

Russ Lande says Allen is his #7 overall prospect based off film.

True but Kalil and Pouncey are Centers. Centers and OGs have better success as a rookie than do OT imo.

Okung and Long struggled a bit their rookie year. Thomas, Clady and our very own Otah had success starting as true rookies. But just look at last year class of OTs. Everyone struggled as a rookie. Tyron, Solder, and Carimi struggled. Castonzo and Carpenter played okay.

Kalil the littlebrother... As in the LT for the Vikings.

And while all have not been all pro, they have produced better than most if not all DTs drafted in the same area ( Suh was a beast though) Which was my point, the succesrate is bigger on OT than DT. Now this draft is better at DT than OT and maybe the need is bigger as well.

    • New season new teams. Everyone we face has improved their team as well. There's now a full season of tape on Canales's offense and Bryce running it. When they win 7 games I will become a believer.
    • I mean I think its a bit disingenuous to call basically anyone here a casual fan. I don't think the casual fan creates a profile then logs into it, in the offseason, to comments on mundane offseason topics.. I dont think anyone on here would be considered a casual fan. That said, I get your point. My POV is from the player. They sign this contract, move their family because of these contracts. When Clowney came him, we basically had a coming home party for him.  So yeah, I get why we did it and I know that ultimately the owner doesnt 'save' money, but I can feel for the human side of the player, which is why I want them to get all they can while they can.
    • My guess is the NBA will either send Flagg back “home” to the Northeast in Brooklyn or Washington, or San Antonio so that they can keep building around Wemby. If I was a betting man I would take the odds on the Spurs. This definitely feels like a #1 pick that they will rig.
