#1 is obviously going to be CoD4. It changed everything. Previous to that Halo was king but when CoD4 dropped, it was the game changer. The way you could level up and the almost perfect balance on the maps, was untouchable. All the CoD games since that are still riding on the coattails because there hasn't been a CoD yet that was as good as 4.

COD4's biggest asset was perfect balance, something that was totally forgotten by the developers in favor of giving the later installments a bigger "WoW" factor with the game. Seriously in mw2 what did the chopper gunner accomplish outside of making the game a race to be the first player to 7-0?(harrier/CG/nuke) And infinite noob tubes and rockets? They might as well had a option to have god mode on for the rest of the game.

Great Atmosphere and story primarily.

the game is tough as fug and has some of the best AI. poo doesn't just stand there waving its arms while you kill it.

therefore halofags and codfags won't even make it through the "tutorial"

Single player Far Cry 3 is better than all of these nominations combined. I've tried the multiplayer and while it's not bad, it's not as good as BF3 or COD.
