If NC State's athletic branches had even half the aptitude as its medical researchers, maybe then those blue boys down the road wouldn't have so much right to bang us up. Personal beefs aside, we're simultaneously stoked and amazed by a new machine crafted down in Raleigh, one that enables scientists to keep a heart pumping even after it has been removed from the body. Andrew Richards, a bright young mechanical engineering student, designed the so-called dynamic heart system, which "pumps fluid through a pig heart so that it functions in a very realistic way." Obviously, such a device has a multitude of benefits, including time / money savings compared to alternative approaches, the ability to record the inner workings of a pumping heart and scoring the creator some serious street cred in the industry. Mind-blowing video is just after the break.

Check out the video, its way creepy. Either way, this my brother's major at NC State, too bad he's not cool enough to do this sort of thing.

    • Well hold on let's pause for a second and establish some things first since we're on the subject of "cop outs with no room for nuance". Our own QB has 37 games under his belt. Many of them are either subpar or just plain bad. We only just this past Sunday won our 2nd road game in his career. But months and months of contentious discussion since his rookie season has largely resulted in the oft used argument that Bryce Young's struggles were due to the coaching and players around him and ultimately he couldn't be blamed But now apparently it seems like you folks have fully tossed that out and are actively blaming Stroud while wholly omitting contributing circumstances around him. So which is one it????? As far as Brees. Look I've got to be direct here. I cannot stand that guy. But I would have to concede that he had a significantly better arm than Bryce Young. I mean it's not even close. Plus as much as it annoys me to say it's clear Drew Brees wasn't afraid to hit the weight room either. And Baker has obviously always had arm talent that showed on the tape even when he was struggling or being a tool. Acknowledging all of this is the first step in gaining a firm footing in reality with the rest of us.
    • I know one thing. I would have Horn active this week. If he gets behind the defense Andy will get that ball down there.
    • I think if we were 2-5 right now and finished 6-11 then that would be more understandable. But at this point.. 4-3 entering week 8. They have to at least finish 7-10 or it’s going to look like they fell apart. Finishing 7-10 still means we go 3-7 down the stretch.
