Why not Andy Reid?

To sum it all up...

He's overrated.

He wants to coach in San Diego (or failing that, somewhere out west).

His system would not fit Cam Newton at all.

Coaches that are highly successful in one system often tank when they go to a new place.

Seeing all that, I'd say "Why Andy Reid?"

Because he's not Ron Rivera.

Reid would definitely not be my top choice but he is 100x than that sack of poo we have now. He's a good coach who has had a lot of personal problems and wouldn't be a great fit with out personel- we could do worse but we can also do a lot better.

Neither is Chan Gailey.

You don't go after anyone just because he's "not that guy".

Bringing in a West Coast Offense guy would be terrible for Cam Newton.

So many replies and so few actually answer the question with the most obvious answer:

Cam Newton and Andy Reid aren't a fit.

Newton isn't a WCO QB. He isn't Matt Ryan. He doesn't have accuracy that you'd want in that QB and the WCO doesn't use his downfield throwing enough.

Reid would accentuate the worst parts of Newton and minimize the best parts.

    • Rotating in Chuba was beyond stupid and really hurt our offense overall. We’ve been in a good rhythm the last 6 quarters or so but Canales figured disrupting that with Chuba would be worth it Rico fits this offense so much better than Chuba    As far as grades go I know that ain’t our RB1, starting Center and our supposedly deep WR room and exciting talented young TE in dead last. Weird. I wonder if that has any correlation on QB play  Even that first incomplete ball Bryce threw in the end zone that hit Legette’s hands. Legette had no business being there so early. Legette went into scramble drill when that ball was intended for Coker who led up because of the traffic there
    • Yeah Jets have pretty much been in every game they've played and have barely lost to really good teams. They are much better than their record says Imo
    • I kinda just wanna see what the offense can do with a QB who has proven he can move the football in the NFL. If Dalton wasn't a shadow of his former self I'd be fine with him but Father Time has definitely caught up with him. If we start piling up the losses as the schedule gets tougher and the passing offense continues to be anemic that might cast Canales his job and it's worth a very low risk move IMO to at least give him a fighting chance. The thought of yet another Tepper rebuild just isn't at all exciting to me having already seen a few of them. I'm about giving this current guy a fighting chance.
