STH Survey Regarding Name Change

The Observer obtained a copy of the survey Harris emailed to various Bobcats season-ticket holders Wednesday. The electronic survey takes about 30 minutes to fill out, and asks all sorts of questions about the Bobcats, the Hornets and the general perception of what would sell more game tickets and team gear. One question, about halfway through Harris’ survey, is the crux of the issue: “If the Bobcats were to change their nickname to the ‘Hornets,’ would you attend more games than you currently do, attend fewer games, or attend about the same amount?” Charlotte Observer

I don't think it's gonna happen if they're only polling STH. I think at best, it will split down the middle as far as "would you buy more tickets if we changed to the Hornets," which will most likely mean no change. If they polled fans who aren't STH, that may be a different story.

    • There are several good OTs in the draft with pro bowl player comps. And their projected availability coupled with the BPAs available around them will make them the smarter draft pick. We signed Phillips and Lloyd, so we can get the best tackle available on the board at 19. People who wanted safety or TE there would be horrible GMs. You have some franchise tackles in this draft and because of all the athletic freaks like Styles, they will be available. In conclusion, the BPA at 19 would be Blake Miller or Kadyn Proctor.
    • Decker, the left tackle. Conklin has only played a very few snaps there in the NFL.
    • People must have someone in their crosshairs to be considered real fans. Someone on the roster must be the one to carry the brunt of the criticism and that is currently XL. He literally is going into year three on a rookie contract, with a still mediocre QB, and people want him cut or traded. He is extremely physically gifted, had some big moments, struggled as well, but we shouldn't give him a chance to make the next step. We literally had games where our QB threw for a whopping 54 yards, and people are yelling bye XL over a bottom roster WR move who we are clearly just kicking the tires on here. Boy, that accent and awe shucks nature must really piss people off. Or maybe they are mad because he isn't Jamar Chase out of the gate. Either way, it is weird how quickly the hate and general dislike has ratcheted up for this guy this quickly.
