NFL Veterans / NFL Fans Combine

Curious as to what some of the NFL vets would do at the combine. NFL should bring back that skills competition they used to have at the pro bowl.

What would Smitty's current 40 time be? Google says his original 40 time was 4.41. Could he still run a 4.5? 4.6?

What could guys like DWill and Beason do in the bench press. Beason looks like a damn bodybuilder now. I'm guessing the high 20s.

Curious as to what NFL fans would do as well.

In the 40 I might could run with Rich Eisen and hit 6.0... hard to say, not a runner and definitely not a sprinter.... I'd probably break/pull something.

Definitely could do the bench press though... last time I benched last week I hit 10 reps at 225 with strict form in my third set and could've done more... none of this bouncing off the chest stuff they do. Pretty sure I could get 16-18 if I did the drop and bounce like they do.

What's your 40 time?

Your buddy doing 15 reps at 225 at 150lbs is impressive. Some of these players (Mattheiu doing 4) is unimpressive. Good thing his position doesn't require strength.

Just watched a video of a kid, saftey prospect Shamarko Thomas, ran a 4.42 (and fell down at the end) and benched 28 times. Impressive.

Beason better hit up the 40s. My buddy (5'6 150lbs) is damn smaller than he is and he's repping 15-20 like nothing. I'm also kinda sad seeing these future NFL players barely getting 10 (Demontre Moore "12").

That is actually freakishly strong...

I'm sure he could be a professional weight lifter for his size.

I Dno about becoming a professional lifter. He has a wife and kid now and too busy in life lifting weight anymore. But the man is incredibly naturally strong. He's not built like your stereotypical strong guy. Small skinny man. I need to talk to him if he's still lifting. If he does I'll post a vid of it one day to prove that I'm not lieing .

    • I'm looking at the schedule and I see a 10+win season easy.  I think Carolina goes undefeated in the division.  I also believe that the Bears, Bengals, Lions, Browns, Steelers are very winnable.  Revenge game with phillips and the eagles could be a win.  Honestly only 2 games I see as chalking up a L to off the bat is the Seahawks and Broncos.
    • I guess so. Don't think I was involved with previous discussions.  Tepper is one of the newest owners in the NFL. Dan is going into his 3rd season as a GM - ever. Dave is going into his 3rd season as a HC - ever. Before becoming a HC, he was an OC/playcaller for one season total. Idzik is about to go into his 1st year as a play caller - ever. WRs are rookies, sophomores and 3rd year guys - though the experienced 3rd year guys are XL and Coker (who has missed a ton of games). TEs are guys going into their 2nd and 3rd seasons, and Tommy Tremble - though Sanders has missed a ton of games. QB has played 3 years. Chuba is an experienced RB, but Brooks and Etienne have taken very little snaps at the position. O-line is more experienced vets with some talent - which is HUGE. Need them to stay healthy. I mean the offense is very young in every aspect except O-line. You see it differently?
