What will it take to turn this team around?

Seriously... we're so far from being relevant right now it's hard to imagine this franchise ever being a true contender, but what would it actually take for that to happen?

I think personally we need to really hit on a player in the draft. No big name free agent is going to want to sign here, so if we ever get our franchise guy he's going to have to come via the draft. Realistically we need to hit on 2-3 players in the draft, but we need that one franchise player to build around badly.

That said, we have to also change the perception surrounding the team. I remember during last year's draft hearing how none of the agents wanted their players to go to Charlotte and that HAS to change if we're ever going to be relevant.

Honestly getting lucky in a draft and getting a superstar. Which means being horrible for at least one more season after the current one and getting lucky with the ping pong balls.

The team could use upgrades at PF, Center and Shooting Guard. Needs depth everywhere but SF, I think MKG and Taylor are good prospects to build with.

Team needs -

Backup PG

Starting SG, backup SG (if Hendo can't be resigned)

Starting PF and backup PF (Idk about Mullens)

Starting C (Biz could be a decent backup, if he develops to become a defensive star. A starter if he develops to be below or average offensively)

    • I've already addressed this notion in a previous reply. You are basing your assertion outside reality if you think Bryce would have not only been more successful but defeated the Patriots in place of Herbert. Bryce got blown off the field by that Patriots team with the highest paid OL in the league. We've seen Bryce with an OL that gave up 65 sacks and it resulted in the #1 pick. And that is not a defense of Herbert or arguing he is a great QB in any way. He has physical talent but he has been similar to Darnold early in his career in terms of his very up and down perfomances. However that does not change the fact that they have significantly less invested in the OL than the Panthers.
    • I think Tepper has been setting the stage where pending there is no miracle he wipes it all clean.  Think you already have been told that with small things like Evero staying.  Bryce is the guy next year.  OC, DC, everything stays the same.  QB room largely the same.  Nothing would really matter there.  They basically get one more shot and it goes how the schedule paired with our 27th ranked O predictably most likely goes.  Everyone out the door together.  Bryce is a bridge tier QB.  I don’t see Dave surviving where he could be bridge QB here in reality.
    • I think the D performed well over the season considering it was put together with Scotch tape.
