Defiance TV show

My wife liked it too. It was pretty good IMO. Nothing amazing. It could be though. I give some slack to sci-fi shows. I still watch Falling Skies, so if that can stay on (and going into the 3rd season) no reason this can't. It looks like SyFy is finally getting back to actual Sci-Fi with this show and some others in the pipeline.

We liked it. Ever since BSG went off the air, I'm still waiting on a sci-fi/fantasy series to grab me. I won't hold my breath, that's a pretty tall order.

I'm netflixing the BSG right now. I'm in the middle of season 2. It seems like it's kind of getting a bit stale...does it get better in season 3?

As for the Defiance show, I thought the alien chick was hot too, lol. The writing could have been better here and there, but overall it didn't get too cheesy which is a big turn off for me, especially with these Sci-Fi shows. I thought the interactions between Nolan and Irisa were the best part of the show and I'm looking forward to seeing the progression there. I had never even heard of the guy playing Nolan but I thought he played the character very well.

It really picks up at the end of 2, if what I remember happens at the end of that season happens. Hell, it could be season 3. But it does kind of muck along in a depressing way until poo hits the fan.

I was actually almost to the end of season 2. Just finished watching the first episode of season 3, and man did it get really good again.

    • I've shown you numerous comps for other tackles in the same age and talent range.  His contract, taking into account his age, health, etc.  is the going rate.  It's a fair deal. I've shown you examples of how long it usually takes to find even an average replacement.  Hell, look at every tackle that has ever started for the Panthers.  How many would you consider a success?  They are not easy to find. After everything we've done with this team since drafting Bryce why would we decide to let our best linemen go and add a huge question mark at tackle?   FA is a crapshoot in which any guy available will have cons/issues.  If not, they'll cost a fortune.   Outside of a first or maybe 2nd round pic next year it'll take a few years for a tackle to learn the position at the NFL level.  There are still questions about Icky. Every vet NFL player deals with maintenance.  Between the contract value and history I'm not overly worried about his knee.  I contend his knee issue isn't anything to be overly worried about.  It's not zero risk but it's an acceptable risk.  Every player we draft and every contract we sign has risk.  You're blowing up his own negative words about his knees and ignoring him saying he is healthy and the knee is a non issue.  You have a strong chicken little complex with this team.  Being he has always been a Panther they are very aware of any health issues. We paid now because now is cheaper.  If his knee was really an issue they would have waited.  That tells me it's not the issue you want it to be.
