How would you feel if the Rams...

That's your opinion but the NFL has drafted 'scrubs' in the first round before. You could deny it but it's true.

Vaccaro is a solid player who's being overhyped. His off the field issues and tackling liabilities have him in the high risk territory.

Vaccaro is not overhyped nor is he a high risk. Lol Vaccaro is probably the safest Safety in this draft.

Jenkins was a legitimate prospect who was stellar CB. The difference between him and Vaccaro is that Jenkins wasn't overhyped. Thomas, Cyprien, Rambo and Swearinger can do what Vaccaro does in coverage and tackle. So no thanks to Vaccaro at 14th. We're looking for a SS, not a FS anyways.

Then prepared to be disappointed. Getts ain't drafting a CB in the first two rounds. Hell, he might skip that position altogether. Take notes to how The Ravens and 49ers got to the Superbowl (the trenches).

Vaccaro is not "limited" to FS only. He's been projected as both a FS and SS. Research it.

I agree with the tench statement.

I don't understand why u are saying that we need a SS and implying that vaccaro can't play SS. Hes the most versatile safety In the draft. Can play FS SS nickel back and probably corner better than our cb's. so yeah that's another reason I like him.

Also he isn't over hyped.

The thing with Jenkins was Bc of his off field issues he wasnt hyped up enough.

Vaccaro being a safe option would require him to be a good tackler with an above average IQ, leadership qualities and focus.

He's average to mediocre in those areas.

He's a good tackler. He just take poor angles at times and that is very correctable at the next level. Vaccaro does everything we'll. He also is a very good blitzer.

No he's not. Fans like yourself keep saying that but Cyprien, Rambo, and Thomas played every position Vaccaro played in 2012 (FS, SS, Slot). So again, how is he the most versatile safety in the draft?

Jenkins was beloved here. Everybody wanted him. I don't see your point.

U brought up the off field issues for vaccaro. That's why I brought up Jenkins. I wanted him with our first round pick not our second.

And it's just my opinion on vaccaro. Just like u have yiur opinions. I also like cyprien just not as much as I like vaccaro

In what sense is he a good tackler? Vaccaro fails to wrap up his target properly which is why RBs and WRs broke his tackles or ran past him with ease. He strives in the box, that's all. If you place in a traditional SS role, he'll struggle to make plays against the run.

"Highly aggressive run defender. Flies to the line in run support, demonstrating a physical pop and generally reliable open-field tackling skills. Possesses the long, strong arms for the drag-down tackle, as well as good closing speed in pursuit and on the occasional blitz." -CBS

"Solid open-field tackler, uses great effort and his upper-body strength to drag down ball carriers. Strong off the edge as a blitzer, has bend to turn the corner and gets physical with running backs standing in his way." -NFL

If Vaccaro thrives in the box, isn't that what a SS is for? Lol

See but Vaccaro's issues go beyond off the field too (forget about the arrests). He showed up at combine out of shape and his leadership during some of worst defeats in Longhorn history was called into question. Vaccaro lacks maturity, fortitude and control in crucial moments. It's why I prefer to go with plenty of other safeties in this draft.

You praises JJ even with off field issues (marijuana, kicked off UF, and multiple baby mamas) but you're killing Vaccaro with an arrest?

Yes, as a SS, not a LB. Review the tape. We're not gonna place Vaccaro that close to the line to pamper him and leave our CBs without over the top help.

You're just coming up with reasons to tell you to not like Vaccaro over your favorite guys. I tell it like it is by not being bias. I love Vaccaro, Cyprien and Elam any many many more guys. I'm not settle on just 1-3 guys. I'll take one of the three any day. And I'll be damn happy if it was Vaccaro.

    • I’ve haven’t seen anything that says we have interest in Njoku?
    • I think the Njoku interest revealed intent and the type of TE they want.  I really expected more from Sanders.
    • Defensive tackle (or end in a 3-4 base) is suddenly a rather significant need.  It seems to be a forbidden topic on the Huddle.  Well I am going to unforbidden it for this thread. When we lost Robinson, it was a salary cap cutting move, saving us about $9m or so, I think.  That suggests that we are going to get cheaper, younger, and maybe, more multi-dimensional.  First, what did we lose in Robinson: (Charlotte Observer)  "Robinson co-led the team in sacks (5.5) in 2024, and he ranked second among Carolina linemen, behind Brown, in sacks (2.5) in 2025. (Derrick) Brown played on 76.4% of the Panthers’ defensive snaps last year, while Robinson played on 62.2% of those reps. No other defensive lineman played more than 38.3%, as free-agent addition, Turk Wharton, dealt with injuries throughout his first season in Carolina. Wharton played in just nine games, producing 36 total tackles and two sacks. He’s guaranteed $14 million this upcoming season. Read more at: https://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/nfl/carolina-panthers/article314544998.html#storylink=cpy OK, about Turk Wharton.  The Observer claims that he and Bobby Brown III were to rotate into the Robinson DE position, but that is too weird for my head to comprehend.  First, Brown III is a NT by trade and Wharton weighs about 280 lbs and is not stout vs. the run.  Brown III is not going to provide the internal pass pressure; he is basically designed to take on double teams and dig in.  Wharton, on the other hand, had a PFF score in those 9 games of 40 or so.  In fairness, he was playing with injuries, but Damn.  PFF gives me a higher rating at the Golden Corral buffet.  In other words, we need a true DT who can fill the two thirds of snaps that we just released.  We can't count on Turk and Brown III is not the answer.  Cam Jackson?  Same as Brown.  Have your people do what they do best.  Furthermore, Derrick Brown probably should limit his snaps.  Playing more than 3/4 of the snaps is hard on the body.  A tired player in the trenches is more prone to lower-body injuries. We need a player who can give Derrick Brown some relief and play opposite him as well.  Turk can rotate in but he needs to shoot gaps and give Guards and tackles fits--a change of pace.   I have to think we are going to draft DT much sooner than most Huddlers realize.  My favorite, you didn't ask? Probable second-rounder Gracen Halton (No. 59 overall, according to ESPN's March 2026 update). Once considered a Day 3 sleeper, his 2026 NFL draft stock has exploded into Round 2 or 3 due to elite interior pass-rush metrics.  Projected Round: 2 (Early to Mid) Key Traits: Elite explosive, quickness, 12.2%+ pass-rush win rate, and positional versatility to play inside on passing downs. Combine Highlights: Led defensive tackles in the vertical jump (36.5”) and broad jump, per Sports Illustrated. Draft Stock: Rising fast due to consistent 2025 production (7 tackles for loss) and a "freak show" combine performance, according to Stormin in Norman.  Halton is considered a high-motor playmaker and a potential Day 2 standout, notes   I would not be surprised to see DT on day 2.
