Yea, they didn't mention it directly but that pretty much confirmed the always online system. The NFL and Halo thing was pretty nice, but they didn't really go into detail on the more important issues with the system. Games, whats up with the always online, xbox live price increase rumors.... so forth.

Also on a Panel with Major Nelson, they mentioned a fee charge for all used games that are played on the system. Not backwards compatible either.

It's basically got a DRM on it for used games, each disk has to be tied to an xbox live account. Every game requires a install and if the same game is installed on two different accounts, the user has to pay a fee to play that game on their system. The system will have to be online during the install as well.

Again it's not tied to the system solely, it's also tied to your live account. So based on what MS has said, for you GF or son/daughter to play the same game you would also have to play that fee.

Using the cloud for storage actually makes a ton of sense.

Being someone who doesn't really operate in the realm of used games I could care less if it has to be online 24-7

Yea, I didn't think I'd use it much. However I've got about 500MB on my ps3 cloud right now, so it's a bonus for sure.

Now I briefly mentioned this before and it's not know exactly how the mandatory install and used game fee will work. Right now though, it's tied to the HD and xbox live accounts, so other xbox live accounts on the same system will recognize the game as used, unless their is a work around for that particular issue.

Ouch..

So you couldn't even borrow a friends game.

That's brutal.

Details about the way the OS works.

The system has a main OS, then it has a APP level and another level that are always running. Just mentioned on the tech panel that's live.

The back of the system as two HDMI port's on it, one in and one out. Uses the Windows snap feature to allow to apps to run at the same time, Also has skype built into the system.

The always online information is in regards to a feature that developers can take advantage of called Azure computing which would require the always online feature to be active.

    • As I've said numerous times the last few days, having Thielen on the field has literally 0% to do with my views on this (I've even said I think Renfrow is going to take a ton of snaps from Thielen anyways).  He has more value to this team without playing a single snap than a 2026 5th round draft pick does for the franchise.   His value is helping set up T-Mac, XL, Coker, and Horn for long term success by helping them learn how to be pros, how to go about their business, how to train, how to do all the little things that helped turn Thielen from a D2 undrafted player into a borderline Vikings legend.
    • He only wants to be traded because it's the Vikings who are calling. If he didn't want to be here, he could have retired, instead he took a pay raise to come back for another season.  I get it, it's an opportunity that he'd like to take, but we shouldn't cut off our nose to spite our face because he now wants to jump at this opportunity less than two weeks before the season starts. I'm not against trading him, I'm just against trading him for a return that doesn't help our team as much as having him on the roster would.  I'll put it this way, if a 5th is the best we can get for him from the Vikings and he's now dug in on not wanting to stay this year, I'm saying screw you and trading him to any of the other 30 teams besides the Vikings for the best offer we can get. He was perfectly happy here a week ago, if the Vikings soured him on that and then want to get him for peanuts, then screw them both.
    • Yes and no, he wants to go back and his wife most definitely wants to go back. He took a bunch of team mates to Minny and has worked out with JJ two offseasons in a row. It's where both him and his wife are from.    The money was basically a please come back and help Bryce. Pretty please...here's some more money.    Now he's agreed to a paycut to go back to the Vikings.
