Soccer '13-'14 season

Damn true, I suppose. Suarez is very talented and could create more match-up nightmares but I wonder if Real would honestly target him. Regardless, it's fun to think about. A move like that would launch Madrid into a dynasty.

I think they should go after Pogba and let Morata have chance to prove himself as the 9 honestly. Morata has stepped up every time he's been called upon this year

WOW...

We were just discussing this yesterday. I never thought this could actually happen.

Yea. Similar rumors have been circulating since last summer. It appears to be gaining some credibility. I knew after Madrid bought Bale last summer that it would be at least a year until they shelled out that sort of cash again.

I do think Suarez is gone. I hope Liverpool spends money wiser than spurs.

Luckily for us we aren't far off from being a very competitive squad even if we lose Suarez. We'll still have a solid Striker in Sturridge, and Borini may come back off loan. He's been fairly impressive, albeit with less pressure.

Liverpool will be in need of a winger and another quality striker if Suarez walks. £90m-ish plus UCL cash will buy a lot.  After that, the issue becomes building enough depth to handle European competition. It will be an interesting summer for LFC.

I guess I wouldn't mind the move but I just hope we don't sell Morata, Varane, Jese or Isco -- they're the future of Madrid.

Liverpool may ask to for a Isco + ££ move for Suarez. Liverpool have been monitoring Isco for a while, but it'd take some sort of remarkable swap deal to get it done.

Keep Suarez, we keep Isco. Not willing to give up on Isco this early. Kid is the future of Spanish football in the midfield...

Yep, Isco is potentially the next Xavi. No way do I want to part ways with him.

If it comes down to it, the only player I'm willing to sell (worst case scenario) is Morata -- which might just happen since he wants more minutes and opportunities.

Jese, Isco, and Varane are off limits.

Due to Madrid's "I want it all now" approach to business, I'd there are only 2 players on their roster I would consider off limits. Bale and Ronaldo, with Ronaldo being just a few years away from a move himself. Isco is a great talent, but right now he doesn't fit the formation or tactical play Ancelotti is running.

Personally, I don't really want Isco. I've always been weary of players who have spent their entire careers in La Liga making a move to Prem.

    • His size will always limit him.  Do t kid yourself
    • When a team has EXPECTATIONS you have to show them that your fandom and praise is EARNED.  People would be mad if the they lost two one goal competitive games like 2023 but they wouldn't have gotten booed out of the building because the effort and competitiveness would be there but to lose in THAT fashion at home with your entire top line going free lance and saying fug this yeahhh.
    • Well with back to back road games to open the season again we really can't afford a "slow start" at least not for the psyche of the fanbase that is already at rock bottom from years of losing. I think that will depend on our approach to preseason this go around. But I do agree the makings of a culture change could be big for us. At the same time we heard talk of this last year and then we got the doors blown off multiple times. I can agree with you it's best to try to maintain perspective until we get closer to the midway point of the season. The main things I want to see early on even if we aren't necessarily winning is spark and toughness from the offense and defense and at least keeping games close.
