Freeman just got the boot

Jacksonville?

You would think.

As bad as the Jags are, and there was a report just yesterday that Gabbert was on his way out.  That they'd take a chance on Freeman.  (In fact during the Jags/Colts game they showed a plane carrying a banner, "The Golden Calf of Bristol, How could it hurt?")

I guess the Bucs feel that they can get a back-up QB cheaper than they are paying Freeman.  I wonder what Vinny's doing these days?  LOL

Jacksonville?

It's a possibility. But they seem to have their sights set on tanking for Teddy. With Freeman if he can find his 2012 form they will have a good QB, but it is debatable as to how good and how far he could take them.

I guess getting Freeman would allow them to use their high value picks to build a team around him. That could work. But I think somewhere like Oakland could be a destination since his old OC is there, or perhaps the vikings who need an upgrade in the passing game.

One of the media talking heads (Clayton, I think) said that the Jags (as well as the Browns) didn't have much interest in him, as far as the trade market went. Of course, this could change now that he was released.

If I was a Jacksonville fan I would be happy to get him.  He's not going to turn your season around but could get you a handful of wins which they desperately need right now.  Jaguar fans have to be near suicidal right now.

Veteran NFL QBs aren't in demand as much as they used to be. Teams want a young guy who they can mold and shape their tendencies. Freeman has some talents and is probably a better QB than some NFL Starters but the finances and the risk just won't entice many teams.

The Raiders will prefer Pryor over Freeman. The Bills will prefer Manuel over Freeman.

Freeman needs to become humble and keep working hard. With injuries he could get an opportunity and if he makes the most of his opportunity who knows what will happen. Just last night Hoyer and Manuel were injured. Teams will be calling. He has to get rid of the immature image and show he's willing to be a part of a team.

So you're assuming that he's not "humble" based on what? Amazing one ever heard of him not being "humble" before the team decided they no longer wanted him. And is the word "humble" only used on certain players? how come we never make the statements about humility for QBs like Luck or Brady or Brees. Are we to assume that they are "humble?"

    • This guy pre-draft was saying he could take or leave football, and he seems to have been playing with that mentality ever since lol.
    • Agreed, another safety would be nice. Bud Clark, TCU, is one I would like to see us take a flyer on later in the draft, if he stays healthy and we don't take someone earlier. I just really hope we draft a solid C this year. Tired of seeing us cycle through average to below average players in that area.
    • Bryce doesn't like throwing into the middle of the field unless the play broke down or it's set up to give him a passing lane.  So because of this issue, most of the passing offense has to be outside the numbers towards the boundary. So you see him throw a lot of dump offs, swing routes, short side out routes, comebacks or deep balls outside the numbers using the boundary as protection of an interception.    Pretty easy for a NFL defense to see this and scheme against it.  All you have to do is run a shell cover 2 deep dime, LB plays a hook underneath, take the flat away with a blitz/flat zone option for the two inside DB's, outside two DB's play hook zone underneath and carry anything deep.    Pretty much what NO ran to take away Rico while also limiting What Bryce can do as well.
