Goodbye Apple

looks like Apple may be joining the larger display size game:

DisplaySearch speculates that Apple may launch both a 4.7-inch and a 5.7-inch iPhone next year, roughly in line with a Wall Street Journal report from September claiming Apple has been experimenting with iPhone models carrying displays of 4.8 inches to 6 inches, perhaps for a 2014 release.

taken from http://www.macrumors.com/2013/10/09/supply-chain-sources-feed-speculation-on-apples-display-plans-for-future-devices/

Interesting to note that the resolutions given are 1280x720 and 1920x1080 respectively, suggesting more display/content sharing between devices and specific attention given to video based entertainment.  Apple intentionally does not include 720 or 1080 resolutions on iMacs and MacPros, so to have them target that number these displays is suggestive of their plans for them.

Also mentioned is a 12.9" iPad, with a resolution equal to or higher than most 50+" TVs.

Apple products don't get bogged down like Android and Windows phone. The IOS platform is locked down and this means less flexibility but it keeps it from having various background apps and services ruin your phone's performance.

Also Apple tablets do extremely well and they practically own the Mp3 player market the same way Nintendo owns the handheld gaming market.

Samsung make great products but they still have work to do .

Maybe by 2020 Apple tablets will have this groundbreaking USB technology.

Also, Android does not get bogged down. You should try a developer edition Nexus or Moto X that doesn't have an obscene amount of Samsung/Verizon bloatware.

Mom just got the new iPhone.  I just set it up for her and starting messing around with it.  That thing is obnoxiously slow connecting to the internet.  It's terrible.

My son grabbed my Droid Maxx this morning to search something for school... (his iPhone was not charged and he's also a die hard Apple sheep) and even he commented on how fast my phone was... :)

    • Kind of where I'm at on this also. I think he has the potential to be an all pro caliber guard if he can come back 100%. He's more mauler than quick. Hunt is making 20m per, Moton is making 22m. Moton is a better RT than Icky is a LT so I think the pay comp would probably be about the same there. I don't see Icky as a 28m per season LT. He'll be low 20s and as an elite guard, i think he'd be within a couple mill of that.
    • I read that Pittsburgh is a possibility.  I think of college QB studs who had some form of mental quirk yet tons of talent--but their issue made being a team leader difficult and it led to their demise--going back:  Jamarcus Russell, Art Schlichter, Jeff George, etc. I think people forget that the QB must not only have talent, but they must lead.
    • I wish I knew more details, but the NIL money to 20-year olds combined with easy access to gambling sites is a side effect that these kids may not have considered.  To your point,A famous 2009 Sports Illustrated article titled “How (and Why) Athletes Go Broke” estimated that 78% of retired NFL players go bankrupt or face significant financial stress within two years of leaving the league.  I am guessing that ego and $$$ and the thrill of competition (most pro athletes love competition because they are the winners) makes it a powerful temptation.  Throw in the ease of gambling on your phone which is always in your hand, and I see your point x 10.
