Recommended Posts

What: Carolina Hurricanes vs. New York Islanders

Where: PNC Arena (Raleigh, North Carolina)

When: 7:00 P.M.

The Canes are coming off of an emotional win as Manny Malhotra scored the game winning goal against Philadelphia in OT. Malhotra suffered a serious eye injury awhile back when he was with Vancouver, but he has fought his way back up to the NHL and has been a breath of fresh air for this Canes team.

As far as the game goes, the Canes can get right back in the playoff picture with a win tonight over the Islanders.

Line Up's

Jiri Tlusty - Eric Staal - Alexander Semin

Nathan Gerbe - Jordan Staal - Tuomo Ruutu

Chris Terry - Riley Nash - Patrick Dwyer

Drayson Bowman - Manny Malhotra - Radek Dvorak

Andrej Sekera - Justin Faulk

Ron Hainsey - Brett Bellemore

Jay Harrison - Ryan Murphy

Justin Peters

Mike Murphy

Scratches: Mike Komisarek

Note: Elias Lindholm was sent down to Charlotte yesterday (Muller expects him to be there for about two weeks), he will make his Checkers debut tonight. He is expected to get big minutes.

    • Btw... only Mitch fugging Marner has a better +/- than Key 🔑!!! And, Mitchy needed 5 more games and almost 100 more shifts to get there.
    • I was honestly flabbergasted to see Rod send out Stanky and the boys to to matchup against their top line to start the game. The reason that line has been so effective is because they've been matched mostly against 2nd and 3rd lines all year. You've got last change. Use it to your advantage.
    • Nobody played well on defense last night. But, the vitriol towards Chatfield (and to a lesser extent, K'andre) is bigly misplaced. People (not just you) just refuse to accept how bad Slavin has been this season. And, I get it. Canes fans (and informed analysts) have spent nearly a decade trying to explain to casuals just how good Jaccccob is at hockey. 4Nations happened and the hockey watching public started to listen. National media even started floating the idea of creating a new award in his honor. Then this season, he gets hurt. It happens. NBD. But, when he finally came back, it wasn't the same. He'll get back to his old self in no time. Probably just some rust, it'll be fine. Only, it wasnt rust, and he's not fine. He's bad right now. It wasnt just last night. Although, that was absolutely the worst game of his NHL career. Slavin (-4) currently has the 3rd worst +/- of anyone left in the playoffs. We've  been begging the world to recognize Jaccob Slavin's greatness. And, by the time we finally got people to listen, he shits the bed! I blame Kash!
