Yea, bc DCK think that you're smarter than that and he didnt need to tell you poo you should already know.

Stay realistic dude. Cutting both Dwill and Stew is not going to happen. You have a better chance of cutting Charles Johnson.

See post above. Read again. Emphasis on the very last line of text.

one could honestly make the argument for both sides of the Long and Bradford case.

Just depends how you want to do it DCK.

Obviously in the real NFL releasing Bradford or probably even Jonathon Stewart wouldn't happen because the real world Cap consequences would be catastrophic.

It can be done inside this arena of course, the consequences here being draft picks will be completely different than they will be come NFL Draft Day.

Teams not even remotely in the hunt for a QB will be selecting at that position when in reality they won't be.

So a draft with some semblance to reality or what is transpiring here.

I know I make the argument every year that a straight draft would be more realistic but perhaps this is more fun(?).

I've said my piece.

Carry on!

Wouldn't surprise me at all if the Rams fall in love with a QB and if he's available at #2 they take him and cut Bradford, would save $10 million in cap space and free them from the fail that is Sam Bradford. I think Long will stay even with the injury, though if the Rams don't like a QB and don't want a DE or WR, they could draft an OT and cut long or play Matthews at RT with Long at LT.

Exactly.

This is how I see it as the GM of the Rams. There's some productive free agent QBs that I can look. Plus, Joe Barksdale is a pretty good OT that can solidfy the RT while I can still draft a OT.

You didnt have much luck with it last year.

Midway through DCK's mock, 5-10 huddlers will quit already. By the time you start your, no one will want to do it.

Just want to get 2 or 3 rounds in, no stress, minimal prep necessary.

Don't forget the draft isn't until May 8th this year.

Probably do mine 2 months after this one is done.

So eat the remainder of Bradfrod's contract, massive dead cap money all accelerated to 2014.

Gotta figure Bridgewater goes to Houston so you pass on Jadeveon Clowney for Johnny Football or Bortles?

Then besides the dead QB money you sign the rookie QB for ~ 4 yrs/25mill?

Yikes.

But OK, sure.

The Bradford contract just looks so bad because they were the last team to sign a #1 overall pre Rookie salray cap.

We got lucky with Cam the next year at about 40% of the cost.

Sucks to be the Rams.

i will allow one cut out of those two. chuck has to choose between Bradford or Long, and C47 has to choose Dwill or Stewart. not both tho.considering the type of year the Texans had, i allowed those cuts because Schaub play was really bad, and Owen was in the final year of his contract.

Im koo with that.

But, make sure that that goes for everyone, not just C47 and I.

You can only cut "one" big name player with a big contract.

    • I am trying to remember when I EVER said reach for need. My thing if someone falls you jump, if you can trade back a few slots and get help at the right value and pick up some ammo to move up from 51 which I think is outside the money zone, then you do that.   Take a WR later. Plenty of capable WRs have come from the 3rd round. Though this year I would go for C there if there was a reasonable choice. Take a TE if you must. I see more reason to take WR than TE. I think you give guys drafted two years ago and last year a chance to develop before cancelling them.    I think it is kind of unrealistic to throw everything all in on offense in hopes of going deep in the playoffs after an 8-10 year, even if it did have some nice bright spots in it.    And outside of this argument but relevant to it, I am bothered by Canales and Morgan and their apparent posture that we have arrived and are now in the big boy club. I don’t know where that comes from. They are out there talking like they are winners at 8-10. Backing into the playoffs in a real convoluted tie breaker scenario. They had some good games, yes. But the big feather n the cap, the LA Rams matchups, did you see what the Rams did? They didn’t fire the coaches but they fired their defensive backs. Bryce beat them yes, and it was pretty, but it was kind of like the Bucs and Mike Evans picking on our decimated secondary in 2022. Someone (Wilks) went down for allowing that to happen and they went down in LA too.  Wr aren’t as good as a whole lot of homers think we are. Shore up the trenches.    I think too many fans buy into it because they are so starved for anything that looks like a winner.
    • How exactly does one win OROY "by default"? Wouldn't winning the award mean that of the two, McMillon stayed strong the entire year while the other guy didn't and fizzled out? That's like saying Secretariat only won by default because the other horse stopped moving midway through the race. Absolutely zero logic in that statement, which makes me very glad that I've never really paid much attention to Walterfoozball.
    • I agree, teams in the past have fired the HC in order to retain a coach on staff...hell it happened to Mcderp this year, rams in the past and Im missing another.  The fall off for the Panthers team defense was huge once Mcderp leftd and Ron could not fix it even when he named himself DC.
