PGA TOUR 2014

Phil's back is giving him problems. Tiger gagged up a 79 hairball and missed the secondary cut.

They extended the season and the Torrey Pines tourney is already the 10th PGA tour stop of the season. Not sure I'm big on that, but these guys are independent contractors, so they can pick and choose where/when they play.

Torrey Pines is actually a muni course I played a couple times... one of the most beautiful courses on tour along the Pacific Ocean. Right up there with Pebble.

Rory is a young kid who is still maturing while trying to keep distractions out of his game. He'll be okay.

I'm looking for the big guns to start playing next week at Doral when all of the top 50 players on tour are scheduled to tee it up.

Start looking for your Masters 4-some now.....

Spring is in the air and the dimpled balls are flying.

Bubba cards an 11 on 18 and leaves Bayhill.

Tiger has a bulging disk and Augusta is in doubt.

Meanwhile Adam Scott with the early lead and looking good for another shot at a Major at Augusta come April. 10 under Day 1 at Bayhill, think you need to toughen things up a bit Arnie.

Bubba Watson, one of the hottest players on the PGA Tour, did the full John Daly routine on Thursday at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. After almost a two-year winless drought following the 2012 Masters, Watson has a win and two second-place finishes in his last four events and was even listed at the top of fantasy guru Rob Bolton's power rankings for this week's event. Well, things didn't go as expected for the temperamental Bubba, who walked off at Bay Hill following an ugly round of 83.
Routinely private about injuries, Woods himself hasn’t identified the diagnosis publicly other than citing spasms. He said his goal is to continue treatment with hopes of playing the April 10-13 Masters, where he has won four of his 14 major championships.

“It's too early to know about the Masters, and I will continue to be evaluated and work closely with my doctors,” Woods said on his website.

Palmer, the tournament host, said he appreciated Woods calling him and “trying like hell to come here.” Palmer said Woods needs to take time off to get ready for the Masters, adding, “If I were in that position, I’d be doing much the same.”

    • I mean, in theory Bryce could get over the hump. That aside, you have to know that due to the situation we are going to give him another year. From some perspectives, it just makes sense. I'm not saying that I agree or disagree with it, but it's not like the draft is chock full of franchise QBs. I'm thinking that only one, the consensus top pick, is destined to be the only one in this draft (and some people don't believe in him). All we can do is sure up the room with an FA (Pickett) and take a swing or two and hope (maybe the dawg Pavia). 2027 should bring better options if it comes to that.
    • Let's be honest here. We have one WR on this team that would be in the top 3 of ANY other team. And he was a rookie last year. I love Coker but he is an often injured UDFA. He wouldn't have even gotten a chance on other teams. The rookie injury would have bounced him around the league for the next 5 years until he stopped trying to make a roster. It's a numbers game for most teams and he would have (at best) been on some team's practice squad. But Carolina has been so devoid of talent at the position, that we didn't have much of a choice. Bryce leaves a lot of questions but to say he hasn't elevated anyone isn't true. No WR has left Carolina since he's started and did better on another team. Not one. And there are several to choose from. Coincidence? Maybe. Probably not.
