The Bobcats have been in talks to acquire Evan Turner but they’re being mentioned more and more with Orlando Magic guard Arron Afflalo. He’s an impact player they could very much use, maybe even more than Turner, and they appear willing to do anything to get him.

Charlotte’s need for a fix at the deadline extends beyond a willingness to do anything for Afflalo, as their desire is to get an impact player from anyone.

Here's a good take on why trade value has sky rocketed.

The Portland pick has no value really at all, which is what I've been saying. The only thing Charlotte has of Value really is the 2nd round pick (low value, but still there), Biz, MKG, Zeller, Piston's pick and the two expirings of Sessions and Gordon.

Now, I doubt that Charlotte would be looking to trade MKG, Biz or Zeller right now with how young they are. So that really leaves the Piston pick, 2nd round pick and the two expirings.

Wow.  Wow.  Wow.

Wonder if we could turn a three-way deal and net Turner and Barnes?  I would fap til I chafe.

I don't know if we could or not, but I'd say that the price would be high and it would likely take the Piston pick going somewhere to get it done.

It's the only pick that has value that Charlotte has outside of it's 2nd round pick.

Read this on draft pick value.

Once you get pass the 10th pick, Value plummets on draft picks. At the 14th-15th spot, your looking at the pick being worth 40% of what the first pick is and only an average to below average NBA player. So likely a bench player, so really not worth much at all to be honest.
