I appreciate the efforts you've made here with this data. As concerned as I am about how efficient we are allowing opposing QB's to perform against us I think we can all agree a change of scenery at DC will go a long ways. Equally as important is the simple fact that we have shifted primarily to an offensive identity as a team and the investments of our resources strongly reflect that. If we cannot get better results out of this offense things need to change.

Covered that above. As for his weapons I am completely over the scapegoating of the receivers. Been doing this for now going on three full years and I'm done hearing it. At some point if you have a franchise QB he either makes the players around him better or he doesn't. Now if you want to get into Canales I am willing to give him just as much smoke as Bryce because we had options for head coach and we chose to go offensive head coach again to oversee the development of our steep investments in the offense. So far said development is lacking to say the least and we came out of the bye week with the division and playoffs to play for looking like the less motivated team. That is unacceptable.

Buss shuts out his old team - crossed fingers so no jinx -
I complimented Bryce on some of the maneuvering he did within the pocket but eventually the game got to a point where he needed to stand tall and get the ball to his guys and he could not do that. We've had this discussion about his legs previously buddy. You don't recall our convo about the sustainability of him as a runner after last years Falcons game at the end of the season? We didn't draft this kid for his legs.

Whatever it is, i hope it gets fully exposed

Roger all that. Do you think BY avoided any sacks last game? This oline is not what you're touting them to be. They are much better then 2023! Much much much better than 2023. But come on now, you'd expect this expensive oline (most are run blocking specialist) to at least dominate in the run game every game. And... I keep telling you our WRs and TEs are not that good yet. I mean last Sunday was a prime example. Our receiving targets never make plays like those. Never. And this is from one of the worst teams in the league. Shough could have easily had 3 INTs if not for his receivers making plays on the ball. Our guys just don't do that. XL almost allowed an INT backing up out of bounds instead of coming to the ball. And everyone would have blamed that on BY. That's why he doesn't throw to that dude. I can't recall a game except maybe the second Falcons game - maybe, where I thought our receivers could possibly be better than the other team's. I think TMac and Coker have a lot of potential. But they're aren't consistent. But they're young and WILL improve. I'm confident of that. I don't agree that BY was drafted to only stand in the pocket. He has always been best off schedule - for better or worse.

Do you think you will get a direct answer? Icky giving up 5 pressures (playing hurt in his defense) by himself and Bryce only getting sacked once tells you he played well in the pocket. He extended plays and converted some tough downs.

I've been very apprehensive about potentially firing yet another head coach. But Canales needs to focus on being a head coach first and foremost and begin handing off some responsibilities like playcalling duties and begin overseeing the entire team or we need to assess all possible ideal HC candidates in the offseason.

The Case for(or Against) Drafting/Signing a TE

Our TE group is young but they are comically either the highest of highs or the lowest of lows. Can't chalk all of it up to just lack of talent or busts. Whether it's Canales or Bryce Young or a combination of the two you don't just week to week month to month go from looking like you've got future studs at TE to complete duds. At some point your QB has to elevate these guys instead of them always saving his ass. -

I am very pessimistic. I genuinely view him as a bigger problem than Bryce and that is saying a lot. -

No, and that was an issue we hadwith Rivera. We used to joke about making a list of all of the things Rivera learned too late. I'm still cautiously optimistic about Canales at the moment, but we'll see. -

I don't think it's helpful in that it takes weeks for it to sometimes happen. The NFL isn't a league for slow learners. -

He did use a more balanced approach (at least in the early part of the game) and called some of the plays that he should have been calling the first time when we were facing heavy pressure. I give him credit for that. There are most definitely issues that need fixing though. -

I think they may not view TE as very important. We will see. -

I don't think DC would bring in someone who is already a more successful HC and also a far, far, FAR more impressive offensive coach. He is gonna view that as a potential job threat, IMO. And that's outside the lack of established prior coaching staff relationship. I think if you see DC give up duties, it would be to Idzik. -

Two weeks in the case of that game... From what I've seen, Canales is at least capable of learning from his mistakes. That's a plus, at least. -

Fixing the issues from the first game was more so Bryce using his legs which I really wish he’d do more often but I’m also assuming his ankle is in pretty rough shape We couldn’t get much going in game 1 against the Saints and it wasn’t all that different game two. On the first drive Bryce scrambled for 15 on 3rd down extending that drive leading to a TD On the FG drive in 2nd Quarter Bryce extended a 4th down play completing a pass to TMac for 21 yards And then second half/old tendencies Canales really starts coaching scared with a lead. Which leaves the margin for error on any drive literally zero -

I doubt it. JT was been a disappointment and I think they were banking on him developing. The fact they are reliant on decent contributions from a late rounder in Evans is pretty telling. -

Honestly DC needs a seasoned OC to call plays while he is still learning as a HC. I do think he has some potential as a HC but I was hoping someone like McDaniels got fired from Miami so he could come here and call the offense. -
Let's keep it real here. BY bailed on the pocket throughout the game. Some of them turned into net positives others were not necessary. And when you reflect on the entire game and see Tyler Shough hanging in the pocket and delivering strikes while getting hit it should drive home to you that this is not what we drafted Bryce Young to do. We drafted him to be a field general and distribute the ball through the air. We were also told he would not need top shelf talent across the board as a result. None of this is okay.

We took some abuse from Cam Jordan last game, but it's not like that hasn't happened before.

He basically is only able to make adjustments with at least a week of hindsight. He is completely clueless on the in game adjustments. Tremendously worse than guys like Fox or Rivera who were constantly criticized for that. -
Also. I cannot say enough how insane it is that the same people who expect the defense to win us games and complain about the OL while completely ignoring the reality that we went above and beyond to over invest in the OL just to give Bryce Young a chance to look like an average QB. And he still can't do that. But it's everyone else's fault. Pitiful.
