If you want use arcane analytics 25 in accuracy #27 in EPA/att (-0.03) #29 in completion rate (65%) #30 in TD to INT ratio (1.4) #34 in TD rate (3%) Those are Trevor numbers Again you will find anything to criticize Bryce and make those same excuses for Trevor. If you actually watch him play you would know the jags have won in spite of him basically every game. It laughable you think Bryce is in a better situation.

Where are you getting your numbers? According to pro-football-reference, Youngs bad throws number is 17.5%. Caleb Williams for comparison is at 22.5% and Stroud is at 16.3%. So pretty much the same as Stroud and considerably better than Williams. As far as Lawrence goes, yes he is better at 15.6% but last year he was at 17.5% and the year before that he was at 18.8%. The same or worse than the "top in bad throws" Bryce. Given all of that, how can you claim Bryce is at the top and Trevor is below average. And I must say I find it ironic that I can comment on Bryces' lack of receiver talent in 24 and 23 and you say I am just using that as an excuse, yet you excuse Trevors' play with "The Jags skill positions players have been a big let down this year." So which is it - does the talent surrounding a QB matter or not?

I mean, ups and downs are to be expected for a 23 year old first year starter. But he showed huge potential all season and has a huge arm. All I'm saying is all these castoffs and terrible 2nd year QBs continue to get chance after chance, while Sam Howell has proven he can throw in this league and doesn't even get an opportunity to start on another team after a decent year as a first year starter.

I don't know what his status is next year. I know he got better coaching from somebody other than Matt Rhule after he left us, but if I remember correctly his playoff performance last season was... less than stellar.

Andy Reid couldn't wait to get rid of Alex Smith (win every season KC Smith) and his checkdown, not making the throws downfield self. the goal isn't to technically log a winning season. It's to craft a team that can be the best in the NFL (without catching a fluke season to make it happen). KC was never going to be the best team in the NFL with Alex Smith (even if they won a Super Bowl off luck)

I'm not a glazer, and I don't think he's the 2nd coming of PM, I think he was in a very bad situation in Washington behind an oline as bad or worse than Vegas' this year. He was under pressure constantly. Like David Carr's rookie year in Houston pressure. It's hard to really judge a guy under those circumstances. I think he has the tools to be a QB in the NFL and he could work in the system that DC likes to run. At worst, he's an improvement over Dalton. At best, we find someone who can push for the starting role or take it and get some stability at the position. If he doesn't work out, we move on. There's nothing wrong with taking a look at the guy.

The one thing I don't want is to be one of these teams with a middle of the road QB that perpetually keeps them in purgatory, not awful but never great. 10-7 and a first round playoff exit every year Hell lol

I'm neither fan nor hater (totally UNC neutral) But I do think Sam Howell has a quarterback skill set that fits quite well into a WCO type scheme like Canales runs. He wouldn't be high priced as a backup either. Put that together with what Linville mentioned and is say it becomes a very real possibility.

I'm not denying any reality. I've been watching it for 3 years. You've been arguing that he is significantly improving beating the top teams in the NFL. I'm arguing he isn't. He may be part of the wins but his part is not significant in those wins. Who are these top teams that he is leading the way, putting the entire team on his shoulders and carrying them to victory when no one else can? Where are these dominant performances against Super Bowl contenders that leave no question Bryce is the franchise QB we traded a fortune to get at #1? He hasn't done anything that any other mid tier QB isn't already doing. He was brought into this league expected to start at a 7. That is what he needed to be to be a legitimate day 1 starter for any serious NFL team. He started at a 1. He's improved to a 6 on a really good day, a 9 on his outlier ATL game, a 3 on most days, and a 0/1 on his worst. He's still below where he needs to be. It doesn't matter that he's improved. His improvement may look significant overall to you because he started as the worst in NFL history, but even so, his improvement still leaves him worse than your average NFL QB. I'm not doing any mental gymnastics. You're making the argument that Bryce is key to us winning these games. I don't think he is. I think you replace him with 20 other QBs and the outcome is the same or better. Judging by the statistics you openly don't use or believe in, Bryce is in the bottom 3rd of the NFL as a QB. The eye test for this year says he is the bottom 3rd in the NFL. You yourself say he should be replaced. But I'm the one doing gymnastics?

I think it's because in the last half of that season (9 games) he had a total of 8 TD's to 13 INT's.

I actually think DT is an excellent selection. These guys can't get after the QB and are still very porous in run defense. DT addresses both of those issues. If we can strike gold and put it next to Brown you're looking at a devastating combination.

I know people like to deem me the ultimate Clemson homer, but I rarely have ever been a fan of most first round type Clemson players. Clemson has had a lot of DL players in the past decade or so go pro and go in the first round. I have to say, this current group at Clemson is the least impressive bunch to come out of Clemson. Woods never lived up to his hype at Clemson.

I've said it before re: Dalton, if he's that good in a mentor role just bring him on to the coaching staff. As a player, he's done.

One of the last times we played Tampa in Carolina at Christmas time I was home and went to the game. This was the game Cam had a 50+ yard run to glory. One of the greatest highlights in Panther history. Hopefully, we have another great moment or two this time.

The Tarheel Glazers on here will tell you that Howell is the second coming of Peyton Manning, it gets old after a while...
