That why i mentioned the KC dynasty. Those three different playoff loses were not Allens fault, in fact 1-2 plays and Bills win. KC just has better players and better coaches and more luck. Defense-wise, Bills have been trying to crack the Reid-Halhomes magic. Its near impossible with rules and KC home field advantage. Spags has started to force the league in naming him the best DC in NFL history. I agree if you take away Bill bielacheat.... Add in Andy Reid the best QB coach and brilliant play designer/play-caller, I mean that's too much for one QB to over-come on his own. Just trolling or not, bad is bad scot. Allen is legit as any one QB has ever been.

REPORT: Panthers interested in Patriots starting safety
Shotgun replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Not if Morgan trades for him first! -
Allen as a quarterback is to me right now is what Andy Reid used to be as a coach. For the longest time, Reid would look like a world beater in the regular season only to flame out in the playoffs. That's Allen right now (Jackson too). Reid got over the hump. Allen and Jackson might also... ...but neither has just yet.
-
Allen is the success everyone shoots for. Richardson is the more common result. Mind you, if Bryce reaches the kind of success we're hoping for, he'll be an outlier as well.
-
wut? I'm not sure he should've won the MVP last year but I don't think you'll find anyone that tries to argue that he's not currently a top 5 NFL QB. Seems to me that Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Lamar, and Allen are clearly the top 5 guys with Mahomes clearly being #1 and then the arguing can start from there. LOL
-
Newton made it to the Super Bowl, and commandingly so. MVP doesn't prove anything to me until he at least makes it to the Super Bowl.
-
Agreed. Minnesota was a very good situation for him. Going into a significantly lesser offensive situation won't be a surprise to see the same old Darnold return.
-
Scot, he just rightfully won the MVP. He had a better cam 2015 season. (those WRs, lols) He's proven. If not for the chiefs dynasty, Allen would have a couple SB MVP on top of the clear MVP. High odds, imo.

The Panthers have an effort problem
mrcompletely11 replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
If the panthers come to a fork in the road you can bet your ass they make the wrong decision -
Josh Allen hasnt proved it yet? Thats a hot take
-
Its all done and in the past, 20 20 etc. Just if tepper hired a competent NFL coach or offense staff, they would have picked either Darnold or Mayfield. *then no reason to trade a kings ransom for a rookie QB that isn't burrow, luck, elway, or manning. Then use the 9th pick on Carter and next years 1st overall for trade back haul aka similar to Panthers. Now you have two or three 1st rounders and two-three second rounders all within the top 40. That would should have been the goal.
-
Hell, even Allen himself hasn't proven he's got it all just yet. Bottom line though, shooting for the next Josh Allen / Cam Newton all too frequently nets you the next Anthony Richardson / Trey Lance.
-
The whole "draft a QB savant with no NFL measurables" argument is also on the rocks at the moment. You need a little bit of this, little bit of that to make it work. Meanwhile, last year's MVP was a "draft an athlete and teach him how to be a QB" guy.
-
The whole "take the phenomenal athlete and teach him to be a quarterback" model is just something I've never believed in. They have to have the quarterback skills first. If they're also a great athlete, that's gravy. But The idea that you can turn a lousy passer / processor into a pro quarterback is just fallacy.

Who is hyping Demani? I think itβs more a situation where some think a relatively unknown player may contribute in a depth role. -
I'd say Canalas is the true OC and Idzik is just a long for the ride. I mean how can you be the OC and not call GameDay plays form the game plan?? No shame other teams do the same..

The Panthers have an effort problem
kungfoodude replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
I get being just generally mad at everything Panthers. It's easy to do. -
He has better arm talent but he is slightly less athletic and significantly less polished than Jones. Darnold is further behind in reading the field but they both struggle with making bone headed/dumb gunslinger decisions. I would say it's actually a good comp when you really do a side by side of strengths/weaknesses and even results.
-
You are more than free to be wrong. He was fool's gold last season, much like every other season he has been in the NFL. Watch how badly this goes in Seattle....

Post- Training Camp 53-Man Roster Projection
kungfoodude replied to Seltzer's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well, that's kind of what I mean. He has already been kicking around a PS for a season. He is a borderline roster player/bubble PS caliber guy. It's gonna take a bit of a bump to get him past a regular roster guy like Moore, especially when ST is factored in. Not saying it's not possible but I just don't think it's very likely. -

I would say that would be a mild surprise if he doesn't. -

What they are asking for in a trade isn't going to fix their team in 2025. You don't throw out wildly high trade offers out of desperation. Also, we don't have anything we can sell reasonably without doing far more harm to us than good by getting him.
