  1. Past hour
  2. Dude is a straight baller and worth it. I didn't like the contract or the raise he got either, but he's bought effort and results on a awful team for those two years and wanted to come back..... I plain miss-read his heart and will. I mean think of the team the past two years WITHOUT him, dear gods that would historic bad. Plus I do believe he has helped BY become a NFL QB, no other panther WR gave any help.
  3. All first rounder have fully guarantee deals, I believe since 2011. Just the Texans gave Higgins a full deal while he was the 34th taken player. Browns had no choice at that point to do the same for 33rd drafted LB. Honestly the NFL and players union may need to step in to fix the current mess. I foresee another reset ala 2011 rookie scale coming soon. I believe this years 6th overall pick Jeanty has the most guaranteed money BY FAR of ANY RB..... that just shows the RB market is hella bad. But Its starting to get like 2000s days, where the guy pick in the first is the highest paid. Like if a safety or center is draft in the top 10, they would be in the top 3 I believe.
  4. I hated the contract when we signed him, but by some miracle he has actually out performed it. Like I said. It was a Charlotte Hornets signing. Not one other team was paying AT what we did. It just happened to work out for us.
  5. I’m not a fan of guaranteeing money to people who have never played a snap of NFL football, however, the rookie wage scale keeps things from spiraling out of control. I assume eventually all rookie contracts will be fully guaranteed.
  6. This is some real talk type of stuff. Im guilty of bad AT comments and all he's done is drag the team towards the light. Ill expose myself more, the reports came out that he wanted a little more money and guarantees for the 2025....... I thought it was best to cut him......Like my guy you are 35 years old and that contract was more than fair when your original team didn't want want you back.
  7. 101 in YPC and 54th in touchdowns in 2023 with 1k yards. In 2024 when our passing offense supposedly showed growth he was still 43rd in YPC and 50th in touchdowns. The only thing odd and bizarre is thinking that justifies 9 million a season bud. It doesn't. We can accept it because we're Panthers fans but that's about it.
  8. What are you talking a bout?!?!?! There is no list!!!!!!!!! Well....... excuse me........ if there is a list it was a total hoax made up by a kenyan born leadership!!!!!!!!! Besides what can of moron cares about human trafficking and rape????? All made up, trust me bro....... Talk about a fumble recovered for a TD type of swing, just terrible handling after all the statements and the more talking the farther the foot gos in mouth.
  9. He's the one guy in the receiver unit actually producing and yet you single him out for the blame. That's what's odd. Don't blame the one thing that wasn't broken. It's bizarre this needs to be explained. He was signed to be a high level #3 WR. It's not his fault that our roster's overall failure forced him into a role he's no longer suited for. The guy has been everything we signed him to be.
  10. Interesting some people are against Scourton getting a fully guaranteed rookie contract which would max out at around 9 million but if you wonder aloud if dinosaurs like Thielen are worth 9 million a year you're a pariah lmao.
  11. I do not mind the side line reporter for females, not one bit. Just stay from either lead play-by-play chair or color role. Stephanie Ready is great and shocked she hung around. Michele Tafoya is the godmother of that role and if not for her I would be against that too. They are good in small bits and updates, but not the full mic time. I mean this is summer league and all, but I much prefer men commentators........ I would trade about any female for Joe buck tho..... Who knows, I havnt heard enough new ones to change my mind.
  12. Produced to what end exactly? We've had a bottom 3 offense at best each year he's been here. Man you guys crack me up. Carry on.
  13. Contract is already signed can't unring the bell. I just don't want to see us taking important reps from our young receivers and tight ends. Barring a literal miracle this is only a development season. Make the most of it.
  14. I followed this too much. The simple term is everyone is waiting on Saints 40th pick QB Tyler Shough to sign. QB always get more money and higher guarantees. Since the 33rd and 34th got fully guaranteed deals, Tyler wants the same. Start doing some bad math- so #35-39 also want the full boat, so will 41st, 42nd, etc It could last until Nic at 51st, some team has to stop the madness. Plus no player or agent wants to be first to bend the knee at a non-guarantee(thank harry Mack!). So this could get very fugly and last into the season, no BS. The Seahawks traded up for their pick and they could easily fall in line, thus making it messier. I do think the teams in 30s will wait sign until Tyler signs. Same for early 40s, its the lynch pin to this whole deal. Remember too all those early 2nd round has great agents and firms. Plus unlike 20 years ago, when teams knew the draft picks would fold cause they needed the money, these picks already have bags of cash from NIL. It's different now and it could last into the season.
  15. Let him sit Not a fan of guaranteed contracts for top 10 first rounders, second rounders can go spit.
  16. Today
  17. He doesn't get open. But he does have hands. Next Gen had him #3 with hands and #92 in getting open. Which feels about right.
  18. So what do you propose? Cut him and save 2mm? Package a draft pick to try and trade him? I don't even know what you're arguing tbh.
  19. You guys are entitled to your opinion but I'm not letting our staff off the hook. We have coaches who are paid to develop receivers. We have an offensive minded head coach. We do not need to pay 8-9 million a piece to aging WR's and QB's other teams would scoff at signing just to develop our young roster.
  20. Bruh we had one of the ugliest passing offenses of the last quarter century with Adam Thielen as our focal point. Even as a 3rd or 4th option he isn't going to make or break any games. This staff needs to develop young talent.
  21. Only 2mm difference in cap hit and dead cap. This bed was made a while ago. Given our team composition, I'd argue it's really not a tough pill to swallow. We don't have any stars. This was a Charlotte Hornets deal from the get go. I'm just thankful he's been as productive as he has. Maybe he'll fall off a cliff this year. Or maybe one or more of the young WRs will break out in the season. But as of right now, he's our best WR because he consistently gets open and catches the ball.
  22. Now everybody's gonna be like "Wait, why didn't I get a fully guaranteed contract??"
  23. I mean, Funchess, LaFell, etc would all be our best WR on the roster too going into this season if you could teleport them from the past. coming off an injured year, debating retirement, already being ideally a rotation piece in a legit scenario......that price tag is still tough to swallow but on paper we 100% need him. In reality, for those that can see the future......we all know Hunter Renfrow is about to be America's favorite comeback story.
  24. Don't think about this season as much as the future. I don't think anyone really expects much out of the Panthers this season in terms of contending for anything consequential. Veteran mentorship is important and we've invested a lot of draft capital into our young WRs. Yeah, coaches are important but peer level mentorship can be equally if not more important. Virtually everyone has benefitted from that veteran person at work talking them under their wing and showing them the ropes at some point in their careers. It's different when it's coming from a peer vs. someone you have to report to.
