  1. Past hour
  2. I made a promise to myself and kept it… figured if Bryce got no blame for his horrendous year one it was fair for all. Free year one for Dan and Canales. Learning on the job year. Then on the clock. So I never stressed too much over their errors in year one. This will be a big year for both of them.
  3. Scot was defending fitt even this past season. Weird. not sure if he got banned but his last barrage of posts he was a little unhinged and seemed unwell.
  4. I doubt he will with all the vets projected to hit the streets. He will be fighting for a backup role somewhere. Ironically Carolina is probably the best place to be if you're looking for a chance to start. Young is not on sound footing and has been benched once already. He's got this year to earn his franchise extension and I wouldn't count on him doing it.
  5. wow lol. I wasn’t a frequent visitor during all the Fitterer years but I remember him arguing for Gettleman at the mention of GM (didn’t even need to say his name), even after he was gone. Someone said he was kicked off. Suspended, banned… I missed whatever drama led to that.
  6. Thats the only thing they cannot do, or wont do.. That cannot do squat about your boss unless it's documented harassment and probably only in sexual harassment cases. They only support management in disciplinary cases. Its complicated and why I hate to deal with them. Except when you have to let someone go. Worthless otherwise.
  7. Well, we’ve been, or I should say Bryce has been, real lucky with the injury thing. We had better put something behind him. Edit: also, I guess my point was WIllis will be able to get, at minimum, assurances of an open competition. I don’t think he needs to settle for less.
  8. I didn’t miss much then did I? I’ll tell you though, some of my jobs, I probably could have used them with some shitty bosses. or a union rep.
  9. There's a few guards the could be centers at this level as well. Teams love versatility at this level.
  10. Their job is to make you sit through boring and dated lectures and videos like you're an idiot and come up with moronic policies that require days of your time to document that you're following. And fire people.
  11. I feel like the 3rd or 4th might be a sweet spot for our next starting center. Theres some solid centers that should be there when we're on the clock.
  12. I wouldn't make it an open competition. He's the emergency qb. He has to learn the system by the way. Now if somewhere down the road Young gets hurt or benched it's his job to earn and keep. I would prefer Young be benched and not hurt obviously.
  13. I dated a girl from HR in the ‘80s. Had no idea what it was even after she tried to explain it to me lol. I fired a guy once that had had two major label record deals. Lol. it was a strange feeling. I know a guy who has been in that position and done the same thing to a player in a band I worshipped. Still love them. You would know them. It was from a side thing not that band. He told me the story about it though. The guy in my story was great. Still is. He was just a bit redundant after they cut our pay at a full time job and had irritated me over something at the time so I kept his counterpart.
  14. Yeah Morgan has had one awful draft and one solid draft. And his success to this point has largely hinged on him throwing obscene amounts of money at free agents. Which again literally anyone else could do that. Anyways. Keep in mind that once upon a time a large majority of the huddle were once rabid Scott Fitterer fans. And I am not exaggerating. There were times where it seemed like folks were about ready to come to blows if anyone had the nerve to question Scott Fitterer's prowess as an evaluator of talent. Quite amusing looking back.
  15. Well, I have counted him out. He is out of our financial league. We are not in the mode of overtly challenging Bryce and he is going to, at the minimum, get assurances of competing for the starting job. And more money than what I think we have in mind. Would I personally do it and have an open competition? Been advocating for that since Bryce came here. He never had to beat anyone out, and talking about my code in the the other thread? I like having a code for starting jobs too. Competition. edit: I am sure there are other suitable potential destinations but Minnesota stands out to me as a good spot for him. Same division, possibly hot seat coach due to QB questions, good roster overall.
  16. I love the mullet but he's stiff and slow. I'm curious to see where Baun, I think that it was who i noticed is projected. I haven't looked into the oline yet so I am just now looking into them. I think there may be someone who we can snag in the 4th.
  17. It's only degen if it doesn't hit, haha.
  18. Serious question. Based off what? Morgan has one of the worst drafts in franchise history followed by what appears to be one of the best. We also don't have a winning season under Dan yet. He "fixed" our oline by buying 2 guards making us the most expensive unit in the league. Unfortunately, it didn't really produce a lot of results and 2 years later needs major help. Our defense was the worst in nfl history, followed by better, but still below average. He gave 2 years to Dalton, who was already washed up. He's made a few good moves too like Coker as an udfa, we offered him the most $, and the Jackson trade. At the moment, I'd say his ability to build a team is unknown. He was also assistant during Fitterer's tenure. And for those saying he wasn't making any decisions, you don't get promoted to GM if you've never actually done the job. That'd be like Bill Gates PA getting promoted to CEO just because he was in the same room when he brought him coffee. Morgan was involved in those 3 years of incompetence. I still think the best GM we ever had was Bill Pollian. From expansion to playoffs in 2 years was quite a feat before he took off for Indy. Overall though, I'd say our GM bar is quite low to hurdle to be the best.
  19. Don't forget Willis. I'm going to hold out hope that we get an actual backup dammit so let me dream.
  20. Yeah I haven’t looked deeply at it either. There isn’t much in the way of obvious diamonds in the rough among the usual listed suspects. Past Mac Jones and Daniel Jones, a bunch of meh. And I am not in on either. Daniel Jones was gonna be a bargain last year.
  21. I hated HR until it was time to fire someone. They wanted to control hiring and firing so I made sure they earned their money. I've had similar employees to Smith but not as open about their disdain for their fellow humans. I felt no guilt about not saying goodbye when they came in and escorted them out the door.
  22. Gennings Dunker is a guy I’ve grown to admire while watching the NFL Combine. Moves great, looked fantastic in drills. One of the highest graded PFF OT’s in college football over the past few years. Plus, he’s got the look too with that mullet Lol.
  23. Ron Rivera was imperfect to say the least. The huddle in particular was heavily critical of his coaching. But what's done is done. That's a long dead beaten horse. Gotta turn the page. Ron Rivera is still a good man. As for Gettleman. He was a complete dick. Which ironically makes him a kindred spirit of sorts in relation to Steve Smith. So in a way Steve after years of being the abrasive asshole to people got a dose of his own medicine and he certainly didn't like it. And he's still lashing out over it all these years later. As we age we are supposed to grow wiser and be more introspective and willing to reflect and adapt. These concepts are apparently completely lost on Steve Smith.
  24. Its going to be interesting who the younger backup is brought in. I have not looked at the full list of FA's are yet because the official cuts have not been made. But Morgan knows he has to do something about it.
  25. I get that, and it is part of todays world. I have never had to deal with HRs being a self employed or hired by another independent self employed type. Even when I worked for corporate entities, it was independent contractor. Dealt with one guy. I respect tell me to my face. In person not over the phone or in a text. (Any business of that type I talk, I go the extra mile to do it face to face). It’s just my code.
