  1. Past hour
  2. Brady was a two season starter in college. https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/tom-brady-1/gamelog/
  3. Or as a coaching staff. Canales literally benched him 2 games into his tenure. I think this coddling narrative is a little overblown. And how good is a FA that's sitting at home not on a team, or being waived in the offseason? Probably not as good as we're thinking.
  4. The Panther GOAT probably had 14 division 1 starts The NFL GOAT I think had like 10 starts in college. football is just a weird. But outside of the most extreme outliers....you know after 2-3 years of opportunity if someone is special or not. If you are debating at the end of year 3 if they are even a middle tier game manager? Well, that puzzle got solved.
  5. Yeah, I have no problem acknowdging that Bryce IS playing better. What I want his supporters to understand and what I desperately hope that the Panthers understand is that his margin of error is and always will be incredibly small. For Bryce to deliver acceptable starting QB play he and his supporting cast have to be damn near perfect. That's a big reason why we've scored 13 or fewer points in 7 games this year and we've thrown for fewer than 200 yards in 9 games (and a 10th barely breaking that with 209). He's averaging under 200 passing yards per game. We're 25th in the NFL in passing yardage per game. It is really tough to consistently win in the modern NFL with that type of passing production. It's fun to actually have a winning record in December for the first time in forever but we have to be mindful of how anomalous it is how we've gotten there when it comes to making decisions on the future. When it comes to contract decisions you can very easily shoot yourself in the foot out of fear of getting worse instead of the courage to try to improve.
  6. Still boggles my mind that there are people who tear him down.
  7. Yeah, which is actually pretty loaded with talent. Gabriel is fuging awful. He's the poorest man's version of Chad Pennington imanginable.
  8. I've argued in the past that a lot of history's biggest draft busts could have been saved by better coaching. Carr is one.
  9. Well... I think it improves your chances of being better early on. But where you go has always been the biggest factor. Coaching and good team mates make a huge difference. And that's with any position.
  10. Tepper did him dirty 2 years ago, EE hasnt forgotten
  11. Me too, but i think it's going to happen. I think his inconsistent play isn't $50M worthy and the team isn't there yet, nor will be by this offseason. We have given that guy the freaking moon despite the huggers trying to poke holes in that sentiment. Top OL, Two 1st round WRs, a 1-A /1-B RB and decent TE play. Yet we don't have a 'Travis Kelce' at TE so that should somehow afford Bryce some slack. How much more do we have to load up on offense before this dude is held accountable to his garbage games? Hell, when he has a great performance, it's BRYCE'S win. When he sucks, the defense did bad, missed FG, WR dropped a ball etc...
  12. He was a 1k+ back for Dallas last year and there wasn't. He isn't an elite RB. He is a good RB, especially depending on scheme. That doesn't mean he will suddenly be a very expensive guy.
  13. If Evero isn't in Carolina next year, this tells me that Tepper is still micro managing everyone because he's not getting a head coaching job and it would be silly to leave for another d coordinator job after a good year. Plus, I suspect Canales and Morgan and easy to work for.
  14. Well to be fair, Dillon Gabriel is being asked to succeed in Cleveland
  15. Right. If a no brainer falls in their laps, then you have to pull the trigger. I'm just thinking this FO has been picking starters in the first 4 rounds - unless they're injured of course. A starting FS/ILB/TE is more important than a backup QB right now. Build the team and then get the QB.
  16. Assuming they pick up the 5th (which I am absolutely against) then that tells me they are somewhat comfortable with by for 2 more seasons at least. Which means to me they probably have either kicked around the idea of an ext or maybe even had preliminary talks with his agent. But if they are comfortable with him for 2 more years, which it appears they are then they have somewhat trust that he is the future. At least to me thats what picking up the 5th is. Trusting him to develop. So I guess in turn, what happens next year if he is still hovering around qb 15-20? What good is the 5th then? Hes going to want an ext going into year 5 one way or another.
  17. I'm not convinced there's gonna be a huge market for Rico. He had a phenomenal four or five game stretch, but the wear and tear got to him. I think teams will see you can't extrapolate that to a full season. Sticking in a two back rotation is probably his best bet, though I get that it isn't guarantee he's going to see it that way.
  18. Eh....that's not a 100% either way. Dillon Gabriel was a long tenured college player, so was Quinn Ewers. They also are terrible NFL QB's. Nix, for example, is probably somewhat a product of being in a very QB friendly system under Pill Payton.
  19. I wouldnt put a target on a round, I would see how the draft evolves and see who potentially drops and how you have them ranked. For example if they have a guy like Nuss graded as late first and he falls to mid to late 2nd they may few that as a value pick. or 2nd to 3rd or whatever
  20. Define "we", kemo sabe I don't see that post as addressing you, or others with a similar take. As mentioned above, there are indeed people on here with unreasonable / unrealistic expectations. Mind you, that's true on the pro-Bryce side too but it's a smaller crowd.
  21. Rico is going to go to the highest bidder and it won't be Carolina. He's been brillant, but now that the season is taking its toll on him, he isn't looking so brillant. Fresh legs is everything and Chuba was the better back last weekend.
  22. FA TE is the only solution this offseason. We pass up the TE unicorns every April that has one every...fugging...draft, EVERY ONE! However this draft isn't the one to go all-in. The Oregon kid is good, but not a unicorn. I've been on the TE1 quest since the 2018 draft. So this offseason is pushing a decade for my TE1 quest. I think we keep trying the Kittle or Kelce route where you take a future HOF TE on day 3 of the draft....kinda like stumbling onto Tom Brady in the 6th round, you know, great odds! I haven't even looked at the TE FA list. I'll do that shortly and give my thoughts.
  23. Actually its rare if its just a 5th. Its either cut, traded or an extension after the 3rd year. That is why this is all kindof foreign. If he plays next year with only the 5th year then its uncharted waters from there. Most teams either know the dude can play or know the dude cannot play. For some reason our dumbass front office dont know what he is yet so they are committing to 2 more years of bryce. thats if the 5th is picked up and i have surmised that is still probably the wrong option
