I'm just leading you to keep typing for no reason lol. I have no point to what I'm saying Scotty. - To the thread-Bryce is very likely getting that 5th year option exercised. And it is nothing to overreact to on the fandom's end. It's not meaning we're giving him a glowing endorsement for the next 4-5 years, it's basically ensuring him we aren't cutting the cord. I just don't see a scenario like the Giants did with Daniel Jones unless Bryce completely falls apart and shows nothing similar to the Falcons or Rams games here on out. It seems like we'll exercise it, see how he shakes out next year with the growing arsenal and defense around him. If he really finds a groove, could see a contract worked out next year. If we implode next season, he will be gone. 2027 is the year we either land a new QB or will know going in we've got Bryce here for quite a few more.

The "room"? Yeah, I expect them to hunt for a better backup. I also expect whoever they sign will be told they are not competing for a starting job.

preparation?
-
I'm glad I chose that game at the beginning of the season to go to. I hope that game still has significance by the time it gets here.

Kyler Murrays preferred method of offseason preparation...
-
He has? Because he is still the same inconsistent QB that makes me wonder if the offense is gonna be bad or good. Never felt that way with Delhomme or Cam. During both their prime when they were on the field I felt we had a chance. Can’t say that with Bryce. Also comparing Bryce to Delhomme is not a good comp. Kinda like saying well Warner was 28 when he got his chance. But Warner actually showed elite traits before he was even with the Rams.
-
Yeah, I truly believe that we haven't gotten any smarter as a franchise despite this recent success.
-
Consistent is the operative word here. He's shown he can be good. He's shown he can even be very good. But as far as consistency, that's where I'd ask the congregation to turn in their Bibles to Revaluation 3:15

ESPN guys talk Bryce fifth year option
LinvilleGorge replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'd obviously love Howell and we gotta do something to upgrade the QB room even if we do pickup Bryce's 5th year option. We can't go into another season with Bryce and the washed up ghost of what used to be Andy Dalton. -
I'm hoping one of these young FA qb's see what Canales has done for Young(whether real or not), it might entice them into considering signing here. I can dream dammit!
-
I'm not buying they are all in on Young. If they are we have bigger problems than a short qb.

An old nemesis is set to return. -
Ditto... Wouldn't mind adding Sam Howell (his skill set fits wwll with Canales scheme) but I doubt he'd be considered competition for the starting role.
-
There's no way they could have gone through this season looking at the qb room and say, nah fam we good. I refuse to believe that.
-
I don't think they're" just saying"... Like it or not, it's all real

Dane Brugler’s panthers mock pick

Let's see how FA shakes out - I think our Panthers tax will be a lot lighter this year, along with player interest. Hopefully our offseason shakes out to BPA possibilities
