  1. I know I'm late on the response. but, technically Wilson has had 1 more UDFA on the roster than Cam has had in his career. Wilson 7 Cam 6 Cam's UDFA's through his career: Seyi Ajirotutu - UDFA 2010 (W/Cam: 0 starts in CAR, Games played 14, 0 TD's, 1 catches, 2 targets) <-- Came to CAR in 2011 from SD. Went back to SD in 2012 Richie Brockel - UDFA 2010 (W/Cam: 2 starts in CAR, Games played 47, 0 TD's, 4 catches, 5 targets) <-- TE in 2011, used as FB 2012 on. Darvin Adams - UDFA 2011 (W/Cam: 0 starts in CAR, Games played 2, 0 TD's, 0 catches, 0 targets) <-- Went to the CFL after 2011 with the Panthers, hasn't left CFL Brandon Williams - UDFA 2012 - Did not sign to a team until Panthers in 2013 - (W/Cam: 0 starts in CAR, Games played 23, 0 TD's, 4 catches, 8 targets) <-- Not used in Offense until 2014 Brenton Bersin - UDFA 2012 (W/Cam: 1 starts in CAR, Games played 15, 1 TD's, 13 catches, 20 targets) <-- Practice Squad until 2014 Cory Brown - UDFA 2014 (W/Cam: 3 starts in CAR, Games played 13, 2 TD's, 21 catches, 36 targets) So, 1 out of 7 UDFA's were part of Cam's Offense his whole career. 2 left the team after Cam's first season. 1 Played more as a FB than a TE (one catch since Cam's rookie season) 0 have been full season starting pass catchers. Wilsons UDFA's through his career: Bryan Walters - 2010 UDFA (W/Wilson: 0 starts in SEA, Games played 13, 0 TD's, 6 catches, 11 targets) <-- on SEA Roster from 2012 thru 2014 (Now in Jacksonville) Doug Baldwin - 2011 UDFA (W/Wilson: 29 starts in SEA, Games played 62, 11 TD's, 145 catches, 220 targets) <--- All with Seattle Ricardo Lockette - 2011 UDFA (W/Wilson: 1 start in SEA, Games played 24, 2 TD's, 16 catches, 22 targets) <--- was with SEA in 2011 - went to other teams - back to SEA for 2013. Still with team Chris Matthews - 2011 UDFA (W/Wilson: 0 starts in SEA, Games played 3, 1 TD, 4 catches, 5 targets) <--- Signed to Active Roster in Dec. 2014. Only Offensive stats came from the Super Bowl Jermaine Kearse - 2012 UDFA (W/Wilson: 20 starts in SEA, Games played 37, 5 TD's, 63 catches, 114 targets) <--- All with Seattle - Starter in 2013 on Sean McGrath - 2012 UDFA (W/Wilson: 0 starts in SEA, Games played 2, 0 TD's, 0 catches, 0 targets) <-- Played in SEA in 2012-2013 Cooper Helfet - 2012 UDFA (W/Wilson: 2 starts in SEA, Games played 10, 2 TD's, 12 catches, 24 targets) <--- Practice Squad until 2014 So, 4 out of 7 UDFA's were part of Wilson's team his whole career. 1 left and came back. 2 were practice squad until the 2014 season. 2 have been full season starting pass catchers for the team. Judge as you might of that info. But is shows me there has not been any consistency with the talent around Cam, being the team is still searching for players to fill those spots.
  2. But if Fozzy "steps up" won't that help Cam... in his process of Stepping up? TEAM... Impacts... TEAM... One grows. others grow. Again, not saying Cam doesn't have things to improve on. But, he can have the best footwork in the league and not over throw a pass all season. But, if there's not one trustworthy receiver... that stats will still show Cam as the Middle of the pack QB. No matter what.
  3. I'm pretty sure the anyone with half a football mind can make some pretty solid Educated guesses that the talent he's had to throw to in his career as a Panther hasn't been "consistent". the Oline rankings show that's not been consistent. 2 OC's on top of that (completely different styles)... yeah, those a major factors. Yes, he needs to work on his footwork. We have all been saying that since he got to the NFL. Even in the past season I saw Game make "better" and "more decisive" reads. And Hell, even the best Qb's make those mistakes. that's a fluid thing with new defensive alignments and match-ups. Part of the game. but, I personally feel he's done pretty well at progressing there in the past 2 seasons. No one is argue'n that Cam doesn't need to do better on things. And if they are, that's just idiotic. But, to think it's solely on his shoulders to carry the team and "elevate his game" to the next level... that's what he has been trying to let go of. He's said it himself. He can't expect to be the guy to always make the play. he has t trust his teammates. Work together as a team and elevate to those standards. It's happening. The Panthers as a team are getting younger, and learning together. young players learning together. working together. staying together for a consistent solid number of years will wield results. It's been a mixed bag for Cam. He's young. (as his Coaching staff has been as well when it comes to their careers are certain positions. Not to mention the new philosophy from the GM standpoint that's only been in for 2 years, and gave a statement of doubt that Cam would even be that franchise QB) it's a process. And I for one see it progressing. Here's to the Future. Here's to the whole offense building together upon itself... And here's to a championship in the near future.
  4. I dunno. I'm pretty sure the team is as strong as it's weakest link. So, the Weakest person "stepping it up" and moving to that next level, elevates the team.
  5. I'm pretty sure my original post in this thread was pretty pointed at the reasons why Cam hasn't put it together.
  6. That's the positive attitude I like to see. LOL
  7. So when you said "He has all the talent in the world. Just hasnt put it together yet and been consistent." You didn't mean "He has all the talent in the world. He just hasnt put it together yet and been consistent."? Cuz that pretty much means "HE" is the reason he's not put it together, and not been consistent. Am I wrong?
  8. So what you're saying is... HE is the ONLY thing that's NOT been consistent in his NFL career? cuz HE hasn't put it together consistently??
  9. I say he's got the need talent and specifics down. he needs to be more consistent. (as previously stated by many)... to be consistent, you need a consistent baseline to start from. That baseline may be starting this season. You can't deny that he's got the skills. they need to be refined with consistency. Thus my last post... nothing has been consistent for him. At all. Hell, I didn't even mention OC changes.
  10. For the people talking about the years before last seasons horrid Oline... 2011 Oline rankings... number on the right is the season before. https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2012/02/23/ranking-the-2011-offensive-lines-part-2/ 2012 Oline rankings... number on the right is the season before. https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2013/01/28/ranking-the-2012-offensive-lines/ 2013 Oline rankings... number on the right is the season before. https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2014/01/13/2013-offensive-line-rankings/4/ 2014 Oline rankings... number on the right is the season before. https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2015/01/08/2014-pff-offensive-line-rankings/2/ So, you say Cam has been inconsistent...? Now toss in his RB's have been injured on and off through out his career as well. Hindering the Run game... creating the Passing game some issues. Last season He himself was injured. Least we not forget the great number of productive Pass catchers cam has had in his career... 2011 WR's & TE's Darvin Adams Seyi Ajirotutu Armanti Edwards PR Brandon LaFell Kealoha Pilares KR Steve Smith Legedu Naanee (IR) David Gettis (IR) Richie Brockel FB Ben Hartsock Greg Olsen Jeremy Shockey 2012 WR's and TE's Joe Adams Armanti Edwards David Gettis Brandon LaFell Louis Murphy Steve Smith Kealoha Pilares (IR) Gary Barnidge Ben Hartsock Greg Olsen 2013 WR's and TE's Ted Ginn, Jr. Domenik Hixon Tavarres King Brandon LaFell Marvin McNutt Steve Smith Kealoha Pilares (IR) Richie Brockel Ben Hartsock Greg Olsen Brandon William 2014 WR's and TE's Kelvin Benjamin Jerricho Cotchery Jason Avant Brenton Bersin Cory Brown Richie Brockel Ben Hartsock Greg Olsen Brandon William Ed Dickson Now, again, I'm not saying Cam is perfect. or that he doesn't have things to work on. Because he does have a lot of things to work on. BUT... to get better at something, don't you kinda need a consistent base line to start off on? 2015 looks to have a better Oline at the moment. the WR's (Cotchery, KB, Olsen, Dickson, Ginn, Brown) all now going into at least their Second season with Cam tossing them the ball. Well.. Consistency? Right? Stew healthy, and Tolbert. That's good! And Cam himself healthy. Yes, it's time to prove his worth. But, I think a lot of people forget the Offense as a whole runs THROUGH Cam... but isn't JUST Cam.
  11. I didn't read all the thread, but as mentioned by one post I saw. He was asked to do returning, and that's not a strong part of his game. (LOL No kidding) But, he he produced, and pretty much caught all the balls tossed his way when playing WR. Returner? No so much. But he also didn't have very much blocking. When he DID get a chance to catch and have space, he ripped off some pretty nice returns. Half full, half empty... it'll be a challenge. Guess we'll wait and see what happens.
  12. I, personally, would rather an impact WR if they were available before a RB. But I guess we will see.
