    Coker, Young and Scourton were impressive. Sam Martin punted it well and Corey Thornton looks to be a good pickup at CB. Still a ways away.

    Lions went undefeated in the 2008 preseason, then went 0-16. Preseason wins beat preseason losses, but I care more about what the 1s and 2s do in the first half.

    I knew it had been around quite a while, plus the money goes to charity, and it's five dollars either way. It makes far more sense to take your family to Fan Fest for $15 and see the team, instead of spending $300 on tickets to see a 31-9 loss.

    Fan Fest is a family event. The players were in full pads this year for the first time in what seems like 15 years, which was cool, but my kid was ready to bail around 7:30 because she wouldn't nap during the day so I only saw a bit of scrimmaging. Still had a great time.

    Ley's just not quite the level of Magary, and Magary's not in his prime anymore. The Young takes were lazy, which I expect, but uninformed -- which I don't. Probably end up right though knowing this team.

    I don't see how anyone could rate an unproven McMillan or a slightly underwhelming Legette over Coker in terms of quality, right now.

    Steve Smith also had the dropsies (among other things) in his first two seasons as a pro. It goes to show that you can work on your craft and you'll get better at it. As for XL, hey, he could be another Steve Smith or another R. Jay Soward. Probably somewhere in between.
