And there lies the rub. What do we lose by getting Watson versus waiting for the draft? Plenty of contenders in recent years with QB's on rookie deals. The trick is finding that guy. With the way the Panthers are now, I'd almost say a push for Wilson would be more prudent considering we could give up quite a bit less. I also know the Panthers weren't a team he listed on his "No Trade Clause" waiver so who knows what would happen.

With an 0-8 record in games decided by one score or less, a simple regression to the mean would get us almost to .500 alone. The Panthers are a QB away, AS THE ROSTER IS NOW, from competing for a Super Bowl, period. Problem is what other VALUE are you giving up for Watson that equates to a net loss? The Panthers don't need 3 or 4 years. We just need someone competent in close games.

And who has been missing from Philly the last few years? Reich. Who picked up Wentz when the entire league was believing Wentz was done? Reich. This was an issue with Reich leaving, not personnel.

It made no sense to me why Tepper even signed off on it given changing defensive base systems is far more time and resource consuming than changing offenses.

Panthers save very little money by trading CMC. You keep CMC, hope he returns to form, and then trade if you're going to do it. I'm of the opinion that the Panthers are a QB away from the playoffs. Do not want Lance. Every NDSU quarterback has been overvalued coming out. I believe the jury is still out on Wentz since his QB Coach, Frank Reich, left after a season in which Wentz was in the MVP conversation. People seem to love Lance but I just don't see it. He was a one read guy at NDSU playing against overmatched competition with some athletic ability. If he were available in the 2nd or 3rd, I'd say go for it. But anyone not named Lawrence, Fields, or Wilson, I don't want in the first.

If I'm Houston I take that deal. That shortens any rebuild by 2 seasons alone.

His games against Alabama, Auburn, and anyone else with a Pulse tells me what I need to know. If you aren't sold on Lawrence, I'm not sure how you believe that anyone else in the draft should be taken above pick 33.

Last year was his 2nd year in the league. He was raw coming in and everyone knew it would take time, as it usually does with offensive linemen taking outside of the Top 10. People seem to forget that the developmental curve for offensive linemen is far steeper than all skill positions.

Did you watch Heinicke in college? Or look at his stats? He was far more than a guy who just threw the ball a lot.

An insurrection requires a goal of overthrowing a government. I think most can agree that group had no goals. It was a riot. Far less intense and destructive than anything that happened this summer. Right, wrong, or indifferent, both situations are bad but the only dissimilarity is the Democrat reponse. Same thing happened to Armanti Edwards. Unfortunately, as far as the NFL goes, he was ahead of his time. I'm not seeing what everyone else sees with Lance. I watch a lot of football and you can't really get a read on how good he is because of who he is playing with and against. NDSU may well win C-USA, the worst FBS conference, while the rest of the MVFC would finish in the bottom half. It's not even close.
