Exactly, Bryce will lose. If the draft pick is halfway decent he beats out Bryce as well.
-
I just don't get this at all. Literally almost any vet they sign would be competition.

Moehrig justified in punching Jennings in the scrotum

This post and thread title has me lol, thank you! -
We may pick up the fifth, but it's way too soon to say he's the starter next year. I think you are forgetting Bryce is a bad QB.
-
Bryce might be the most frustrating player we've ever had.

I can't believe how short some memories are. Guy shits bed for weeks and then has a good game and he's the man. You can't trust a guy who's good 30 percent of the time at any position and definitely not qb -
Well yeah Tepper is probably not spending much time here (because he can't log back in) but I do think he's sensitive to opinions. But anyway, I'm assuming you think we should pick up the option.
-
Sorry which gif?
-
Do you think it should be picked up?
-
Disagree on the fifth year option. Bryce is who he's always been. Fools gold at best.

J Person article on Canales and game plan and Rico
Sup replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
I hate conspiracy thinking, but I have a hard time rejecting this idea. It's either that or Canales is the stupidest coach the NFL has seen in a long time, and while I don't know if he's a good coach, I don't think he's that stupid. Of course, like somebody else suggested he might have gone along with it for the opposite reason, to prove that Bryce can't do it so Canales can have a fair shot next year without him. Either way, it's pretty clear that Tepper is going to have to have the idea that Bryce sucks pounded in his head a hundred times. -

I know this sounds like reaching, but I had the same thought. -
One vet, one firat or second round pick, and one later round pick. Dalton released, Bryce dealt. Time to throw darts.

I don't really care, because like I've been saying we aren't picking up the option and he's probably gone after the season, but it's actually interesting that so many people still defend him. Are they Bama fans? Panthers haters who blame all his failures on the organization? Not even football fans who think he's a nice guy? I honestly don't get how anyone could see what we've all seen the last three years and think he's a good QB.

Jameis has had spectacular games but no one thinks of him as a good QB.

Canales is telling us, but we aren’t listening
Sup replied to ProcessBlue2's topic in Carolina Panthers
He'd already be starting. We basically threw away this season by not having an option behind Young. On the plus side, this is going to definitively prove to Tepper that it's time to move on. -

It's more obvious than ever that we aren't picking up the fifth year and that Bryce probably has no more than seven more games in a Panthers uniform. -
I don't see any reason to keep Young at all. Trade him for a late pick and move on. Yes he could be a competent backup for a few games but that also takes up a roster spot for another QB with more upside. But even more importantly it just lets us move on from this epic mistake.
-
I'm sure it was open. It's just that it closed one minute after Cam stepped on the practice field.
-
If it's one of those two guys, it has to be White. It's possible that Hooker would be significantly worse than Young.
-
Whoever is the best FA QB should start next week. Can't believe the locker room is ok with continuing with Young.
-
Howell seems like one of the more likely reclamation projects. The knock on him is he threw a lot of picks his one year playing. Most QBs do struggle in their first year, and then some of them learn and make adjustments and take care of the ball better. Maybe he could do that. He does have the other tools. So the case for Howell is, he can make plays. He hasn't been bad for more than one year. He can run well when needed. I mean, maybe it's a 25% chance that he turns into a pretty good starter, but that's a better chance than most of the other options out there.
-
Some will be much better than Bryce. It isn't that hard.
-
Exactly. I know a lot of doomers on this site are sure we'll pick up the option and not bring in competition and that Tepper is too personally invested. But this kind of horrible toothless performance week in and week out won't get him more time. We will have a different QB next year.
-
Then why did he do it?
-
I just had an unpleasant realization, which is the more that we win, the more enraging it is that we have Bryce at QB. Because we could be so much better.
