The Pats will likely just load up the box to stop the run, but that doesn't always work. Basically Sam, assuming he plays, has to make the throws we brought him here to make. He has a huge contract and Rhule's reputation is on the line. Make the throws to guys in single coverage and guys who are open, or pack your bags Sam.

Yes Sam is listed as limited, but Rhule is saying he could be up to play Sunday. Rhule says things are looking positive everything is on the table for Sam to play depending partly on what he can do tomorrow. With CMC it's more iffy because they are going to ask him to go 100% full speed tomorrow, and he may not be able to do that.

Well know more about Sam and CMC tomorrow, but Sam looks like he's going to clear the protocols and play.

One of the worst parts of being a Panthers fan is hearing other fans complain about the o-line, and then seeing the team do nothing major to address the problem. Season after season it's the same crap.

In the pocket or on the run Sam lacks awareness of his surroundings. Look around when your on the run so you don't get obliterated.

Not until we have finished sacrificing the entire season.

Maybe this is my dark side showing through, but I kind of would like Rivers to come here just to see if he would survive the experience.

We're basically just where most Panthers teams have been. We need to control the ball by running and safe passes, and our defense needs to generate turnovers and 3 and outs. That's all well and good when our o-line is more powerful than the opposing d-line, like with the Falcons. The problem is when we face a big d-line that can stuff the run and force us to pass. That's when captain interception, Sam/PJ, will wreck us.

I'm reminded of a quote from the John Fox era before a Falcons game: "We're going to run it until we get a first down, no passes." This Falcons team is also bad at stopping the run, and Sam is good at throwing interceptions. Seemed like an obvious plan to run it like crazy and it worked.

PJ is terrible. Sam is bad. On a 1 - 5 scale of NFL QBs I'd say: Watson - 4 Sam - 2 PJ - 1

Our offense is very simplistic, so Cam or any other vet wouldn't have any trouble getting up to speed quickly. However, Sam might be cleared before we play again.

Why not Cam?

Yeah a lot of Huddlers attacked Hurney for keeping Shaq over Bradberry. Thrilled we have Shaq.

We could sign Cam and just run it a lot like today.

Sam is terrible at playing QB even when he has time to throw. Rhule looks like he's in shock during press conferences. He thought his coaching and system would make up for Sam's lack of talent. We just got destroyed by a bad Giants team. It's over. Get Watson or draft a new QB.

Then all the more reason to trade the pick to the Texans.

Sam is as dumb as they come, and Tua is in that same category. Sam is so stupid that I have seen him look at his first read, see the receiver wide open, and skip over him to the next read, and throw into heavy coverage. Sam is a moron. Tua would drive me away from the Panthers so long as he is here. I can't.

I'm leaving the forum if we get Tua. Not that anyone cares, but I'm out if Tua comes here. Unacceptable.

I think it'll either be Watson or the top rated QB in the 2022 draft. Your QB decides if you can win the SB or not in the coming seasons. We have to land a QB who can win the SB in the future and that means a high level of talent beyond Jimmy. Jimmy went to the SB because he was dragged there by a mega-team.

I want a proven top quality FA QB, or a rookie QB draft pick in 2022. Tua is not good enough and that is why Miami doesn't want him, and I don't want him either. The worst thing we can do is settle for a lower tier QB in the hopes that Rhule's system can make him a winner. I want a rookie QB drafted the 1st, or I want Watson. No Tua. If we get Tua then I am leaving this forum and taking a year off from the Panthers.

If we're going with drafting a rookie QB, then my god it's going to be a while and that's if he's really good. If he's a bust then god help us. What would be your plan?
