  1. Rebuilding teams shouldn't take older declining QBs for all the obvious reasons. Think of the hits Stafford would have to endure behind our o-line? Hell we're still not even finished rebuilding our defense. We're not a win now team. The Colts will want Stafford, and they should be the team to have him and try to win right now.
  2. Stafford needs a stone wall o-line, like the one in Indy, not our patchwork line where we don't even who will be at LT, and the interior sucks. I could go on why Stafford doesn't want to come here, but I think we'll see a Stafford to Indy announcement soon. No need to go on about it.
  3. I am not totally against Stafford coming here. I would rather have Stafford than Teddy if those were the two options. I think we'd go 8-8ish with Teddy next season due to an improved roster. I think Stafford with an improved roster could hit 9-7ish or maybe even better. I don't think Stafford wants to come here during our rebuild. He has passed his prime, or is passing it, and he needs to hit on a winner now. The Colts are set up to win now, as an example, and he would be much better suited there imo. Plug Stafford into the Colts and you're in the playoffs and possibly a SB run. Plug him in here and we're not ready to make a run. Then when we are ready for a SB run Stafford is too old. It's not great timing, and I'm not saying that 100% that's how it will play out, but I'd rather go younger with a QB. In addition, the 1st rounder we give up for Stafford further slows down our rebuilding process.
  4. Stafford is 32. We're still several seasons away from completing our rebuilding process. We need a younger QB imo. Stafford will go to the 49ers who are in a "win now" kind of position imo. If not the 49ers, then you plug Stafford into the Colts and they're back in the playoffs imo. He's not coming here.
  5. I would imagine everyone in the Texans organization is doing everything they can to appease Deshaun and keep him long term. Once the Texan organization kisses his rear enough he might just change his tune and stay for good. Assuming the Texans can't appease Deshaun we'll have to put together a huge deal to compete with the other teams clamoring to snatch him. I'm starting with the idea that Deshaun isn't going anywhere, and the more time that passes the more that is solidified.
  6. Rhule's explanation for playing the starters against the WFT was that he wanted to teach the players how to win in December. It was a great learning opportunity in his mind and especially for the younger players. Thanks to that win we will now likely end up watching the QBs with the best potential be snapped up right in front of us. I just hope those QBs end up being busts, otherwise that WFT win will become legendary and not in a good way.
  7. We will improve the roster, and with CMC playing at least most of the we'll be at or near 8 wins. What would you like to bet? We get near or at 8 wins and you change your avatar to an image that says "I don't know what I'm talking about"
  8. Mark this thread. 8 and wins and we'll revisit this post.
  9. If we trade Detriot our first for Stafford I'm done. I'm out.
  10. fug Matt Stafford. Might as well stick with Teddy.
  11. All we had to do was Bench Teddy for the WFT game. Now we're screwed. We're headed to 8-8 Teddy limbo for the next two seasons at least. Unless we can pull off a miracle and land Watson it's a wrap.
  12. Well looks like we've got to rebuild the long hard way.
  13. I think the Texans will want two 1sts and our best player on a rookie contract at the most important position. That means I think they will want Burns. If not then DJ. If not, then no deal.
  14. Do we have any people on this forum who are extreme football experts. For instance you're obsessed with football and know way more than typical fans. This question is for you. What would the Texans be willing to accept realistically as a trade for Watson?
  15. It's all about the QB. You're not going anywhere without a great one. We're spinning our wheels until we make a move to land Watson, or hit in the draft.
  16. Expect the bottom of our roster to be churned like butter. They'll want to keep cycling and shirting through trash until they find someone overlooked. The only free agent deal I want done is you know who.
  17. The QBs at 8th pick look extremely dangerous of being busts. Trey could be a whopping bust, and Zack as well. Taking a QB at 8 is a nail biting risk, and if we miss we're screwed long term. If we hit it's still going to take a while for the QB to learn the system and be effective. I say offer the Texans more than what other teams like Detroit and others are willing to offer. We need to offer the top deal. That's the only way we'll have a great team in the short term. Otherwise expect the next couple of seasons to be very painful.
