Matt said at his recent press conference that the team has made a lot of progress, he just wishes everyone else could see it. I'm going to try to give him the benefit of the doubt. What is that progress? What has Matt Rhule accomplished as head coach of the Panthers? I'm trying to think of his accomplishments and reasons why he should be justified a third season as head coach. There aren't many cultural reasons to keep him. The culture was already good among players under Rivera. If anything, the player culture has to be worse. I've never seen a team give up as easily as Rhule's Panthers do. Team performance doesn't show any progress. The team doesn't have a signature win. The offense is probably the worst in the NFL. Where credit is due, I suppose the defense has talent. The focus has clearly been on rebuilding the defense, and the defense seems to be in marginally better shape than in 2020. The issue with that is, many key players are free agents next season. Am I missing something? What has Matt Rhule accomplished in his two seasons that shows progress and justifies keeping him for a third season? There has to be something I am missing...

yea because that meaningless late season win vs washington last year which would have put the panthers in the #3 draft position really established the "winning culture" everyone keeps talking about.

I don’t give a flying f*ck what some millionaire player thinks about what a “true fan” means. If your team sucks you can boo them to voice your displeasure. This team deserves to get booed. The team isn’t improving. They have gotten worse as the season has gone along. The team is getting destroyed every game and will end the season on a 7 game losing streak. The players have given up. They were even quitting early in the season! (See Giants game) Tepper fired Rivera for far less than what Rhule has not accomplished. The team is worse now than in 2019 before they fired Rivera. The only reason not to erase this failure from our memories is the absolutely ridiculous and dumb 7 year contract Tepper gave to Rhule. What is it with this team dishing out guaranteed money to unproven guys?? Darnold gets his $19m option picked up after 3 seasons of being the worst QB in the NFL! Rhule gets a top 10 highest paid coaching salary with 1 year of NFL experience! This team is seriously a clown show. If they don’t clean it up and stop embarrassing us with clown show decisions there won’t be many fans left in a few years when the clown car finally reaches the threshold of hell.

I would love to take a coach from their organization. Pederson had Reich on his staff in Philly.

Im a fan of this list. If Pederson isn’t down then Eberflus is my second choice. That Colts D is extremely well coached

Nah very unlikely. The Panthers lost to like every team they’d have a tiebreaker with. They’re in great shape to lose out and possibly end up drafting in the 4-5 range. The Jaguars, Jets, and Lions are likely the only locks to be ahead of them.

Could continue to move up as well. Big day for draft position.
