Darnold looks better than I expected him to and I admit that. But to be fair he’s been backed by 2 dominant defensive performances so I’m not crowning him the franchise savior yet either. They shouldn’t be counted at all. It could be a separate statistic for kickers post 2015. XPs are worth 1 point. FGs are 3. And they’re weighted the same in that metric. Not fair.

You’d have to dig into the numbers to prove that. I think it’s unfair to weight XPs for some kickers and not others because of a rule change. I think Gano was honestly worse closer to the goal posts than further away. I think if you take away the XPs his numbers might actually improve.
