that was a heartbreaker. So close, and missing Melo and Monk...not a good game from Gordon and still almost beat one of the best teams in the league. We've got pieces....a lot. Just need a big man. Finally, a fun time to be a Hornet fan.
-
our 4th is a high one this year, so it seems fair. Our high 3rd seems too much.
-
Devonte stepping up when we need it....45 secs left in OT and Hornets down two...need a stop.
-
man that 3 at the buzzer bounced twice right on the verge of going in but we see overtime....impressive to come back without melo and Monk, but you need guards for overtime. can Gordon finally make some plays?
-
HOW DO YOU DO!!!!! Bridges having himself a day to keep the Hornets alive!
-
Monk out with sore foot. PJ probable.

1 pm game today! Suns are 30-16....a win today without Melo would be a statement.

lol Heat ran into a Buzzin buzz saw tonight...the Mad Monk having a night...

49ers just traded to possibly get....Mac Jones
Captain Morgan replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
Chris Simms @CSimmsQB · 5h 49ers-Dolphins...Kyle Shanahan trying to control his own fate. You trade up to 3 for a QB who is NFL-ready right now, not a project. And to me that says Mac Jones. Chris Mortensen @mortreport · 1h Kyle Shanahan had success with Matt Ryan and he and Mike Shanahan had a love for Kirk Cousins. Agree with Simms here. I see @MacJones_10 as the 49ers' pick and @treylance09 as the fallback. -
we've won 4 straight at home...can we show the effort without Melo that we did last game? I hate the Heat. Hoping we can get the young bigs more pt.

49ers trading up to number 3 with Miami!
Captain Morgan replied to joemac's topic in Carolina Panthers
didn't one NFL guy say a few months ago that the media types are far off from what the NFL teams view as the talent this year? Seems like I remember one tweet/article that said Rhule loved Jones as well. And now Verge says San Fran for him. This is crazy. Wonder how we feel about Lance? Maybe Atlanta likes Lance more than Fields. If Jones truly does make this a 5 QB draft, at least we have a chance. The Bengals can still get a LT at our pick. And it's a hell of a lot cheaper to move to 5 than inside the top 5. Trade chart value is only 300 points, although we may have to battle other teams and give up more than that. It all depends if we like Lance...or Fields, whichever may be available. -

it was great to see the Hornets dominate a team in the 2nd half without Lemelo, and with Gordon not playing much in the 2nd. It's a good sign. Our building blocks are strong. Just need a big man, preferably a vet that get the team into contender status sooner rather than later.
-
dude has some off the field concerns that are pretty ugly. I know teams will vet him out and someone will draft him, but I don't want him to be a Panther from what I've read. Also I don't want him to be a Panther with pick 8. Last fall I was interested, but I do agree with the positional value argument now. QB, LT, CB or trade down.

sloppy early on D, and later on O...you can tell they are still getting used to not have Melo, but at least they show signs of more fluid play. Rozier scoring for us the first half.

Houston game tonight, road game against a team that lost 20 straight and then won their last one. With Gordon and our young guys, we should be able to handle them. Graham gets a chance to lead the team.

I'm at work but it looks like our recent signings have been added. 26 mill https://overthecap.com/salary-cap/carolina-panthers/

David Newton @DNewtonespn · 19m Hère is what the Panthers starting offensive line is shaping up to look like: LT Cam Erving, LG Pat Elflein, C Matt Paradis, RG John Miller, RG Taylor Moton. Four spots have been filled since the season ended.

Jets fan on reddit said this: Jets fan here. He's not amazing, but he brings solid energy and a lot of heart. Solid depth add for you guys. More of a linebacker that has value on special teams than a guy you'd be giving an edge rusher role to.

Sacramento doesn’t appear to have any intention of moving on from Holmes either, who has previously stated that he would like to re-sign with the Kings. However, Holmes is an unrestricted free agent this offseason, so on the off chance that he decides to leave, it might be worth exploring his trade value before the team loses him for nothing. The good news on that front is that interest in Holmes is high, as Shams Charania of The Athletic reported Monday: https://www.sactownroyalty.com/2021/3/22/22345248/sacramento-kings-trade-rumors-richaun-holmes-toronto-raptors-charlotte-hornets

Spurs tonight, a game we play without Melo. Gonna be interesting. Need some folks to step up. The good news is valuable playing time for our younger guys...would love to see our young bigs get some time...Carey in particular. Also a good time to showcase some trade options.

Saints fine for COVID violation announced
Captain Morgan replied to Ja Rhule's topic in Carolina Panthers
not as much as I had hoped....has there been any team in the last 10 years penalized by the league more than the Saints? I think they are well past the Patriots. It's amazing...either incompetence or outright cheating, or some combination of the two. -
Falcons believe they won't have an opportunity to get a QB this high again, so they take one to sit behind Ryan for a year, and then trade Ryan to a team that needs a QB to make a run (similar to the Bucs this year). They'll eat a bunch dead cap, but they'll have their franchise QB, they'll get something in return for Ryan, and they'll save a bunch of cap space. " by Tori McElhaney for The Athletic The news of Matt Ryan’s contract restructure didn’t come out of deep left field on Tuesday, but it came out of the shallows. The Falcons were on the clock to clear more than $10 million in cap space. They did it in one fell swoop by restructuring Ryan, a head-turning decision as the Falcons were top contenders to draft a quarterback with the No. 4 pick. The initial thought was Ryan’s restructure wiped out any hope of the Falcons drafting a QB. But as days have passed, the Falcons’ plans are becoming more and more apparent. Matt Ryan’s restructure It seems crazy to think the Falcons still would want a top-5 quarterback considering Ryan’s cap hit in 2022 and 2023 is over $40 million. Their top pick would have to sit a year, or two, or Ryan would be reduced to a backup (not likely at all), or traded sometime in 2022 (not outside the realm of possibility). But Terry Fontenot believed his hands were tied with Ryan’s contract, with sources telling Jeff Schultz that the new general manager didn’t see a better solution to the salary cap problem he inherited. So, don’t burn those mock drafts just yet, because the Falcons believe they should take a look at a QB in the draft, whether that’s at No. 4 or trading down (as will look at soon in our second Falcons mock draft). Either way, the Falcons are fully planning on drafting a quarterback in 2021."

his guaranteed money is over a hundred mill, a good bit could be in the pro-rated bonus, but it's closer to 100 mill than it is to 10 mill. You'd like to think the Texans had a clause in the contract that would negate the deal on a morals clause, but then again, this is the Texans we're talking about. Interesting scenario... team gives the deal, NFL bans the player, does the team owe the guaranteed money? Anyway, not our problem.

the hundred million in salary we would owe a player we just gave up that trade haul for?
