OK, Huddle friends, I can't lie; Zach Wilson was impressive! If he can get a good bill of health (and hopefully stay healthy), his floor seems mighty high, and his ceiling even higher of course. He damned sure has my approval FWIW, and I can usually spot "it", and Wilson has it!

"Wow" is right!

I don't believe anyone thinks he's a saint (but funny that you used "Saint"), some people just believe that people are "innocent until proven guilty", and I don't think there's anything wrong with that. This is America, after all, and even though it's still fuged up in too many ways, including its uneven-handed justice system, the theory of a presumption of innocence in its purest form is the ideal! All that being said, Watson has a growing list of legitimate legal problems, much less those in the court of public opinion. https://www.google.com/amp/s/sports.yahoo.com/amphtml/the-lawsuit-that-is-most-problematic-for-deshaun-watson-014827728.html Lastly, pre-lawsuits, the Panthers were a legitimate contender for Watson's services! That should be pretty much an accepted fact at this point, being that it's been reported by so many news outlets! Someone could say, "He probably was coming here", and they're statement would have just as much legitimacy as yours (or not).

But he wasn't clocked using a speed clock. He was clocked using GPS, and say what you want, I've read they're accurate as far as measuring top velocity.
-
Come on, man. Lance has some negatives, but he is legitimately explosive!
-
Encouraged! At least he seems to be doing what he said he'd do as far as churning the roster, and he's doing it with future present and future budgetary concerns on his mind. He only extended Shaq and CMC because of what he inherited, saying that that type of action is basically a one-off. So, I'm just glad to see him mindful of the finances and their overall repercussions from year to year. I really like the Reddick, Perryman and Big Dan signings considering the circumstances. I think it also shows that he's mindful of the money and improvement of the team. We'll see how it goes in future offseasons.

Look, folks, we are trying to upgrade the roster. I appreciate Obada and Mike Davis, but they were expendable. I trust Fitterer and Rhule to get this right. They both know Davis (who used to be in Seattle), and Rhule has seen Obada all season long. It would've been nice to keep one or both, but the FO feels that we can get better value from others.

WR and DB, here we come!

I mean, he isn't a track star who has to have a great start off the blocks. I haven't seen one analyst, even the more critical ones, question Lance's explosiveness. You can't fake that! Furthermore, GPS clocked him faster than any NFL QB was during the 2020 season (12th fastest in the league)! Come on, man.

I think it's a little presumptuous and foolhardy of you to limit Trey Lance to Cam Newton's bar of achievement! I was, and am, a Cam guy, but I am under no allusions like apparently some that Cam was the perfect QB. He had a very high ceiling that he still hasn't and may never reach because of inconsistency of mechanics and decision-making. Many guys coming into the pros can work on mechanics, and some successfully. Cam was the type that seemed semi successful at it, but never quite took the leap and reverted back to his old ways too often which led to a lot of missed opportunities and a fair amount of meat left on the bone. My biggest gripe with Cam was his decision-making. He didn't always make the best decisions, and hopefully that's where Lance has him beat, because making good decisions to protect your body and protect the ball will help you go a lot longer in the league--give you and your team a longer opportunity to succeed--than going full out with reckless abandon, which is what some QBs whose athleticism is a notch above other QBs (or football players in general) try to do too often, and it tells on them in different ways. Anyway, Lance has some good things going for him, so give him the respect that you would any QB prospect with so many much-sought-after intangibles before he even steps onto the field as a pro during gameday! No one really knows who is going to be fair, good, or great before they actually begin to play.

I told y'all, all it takes is one. Now let's wait and see what happens! https://www.google.com/amp/s/profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/03/23/deshaun-watsons-lawyer-says-allegations-are-false-accuses-accuser-of-blackmail/amp/

@MHS831 are you smoking crack?

This is the most active free agency period that I can remember. And we're not done yet!
-
Sounds like an upgrade over Adarius Taylor (formerly Adarius Glanton) more than anything.
-
I don't think that he's going anywhere. He still has a lot of upside. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.derp/platform/amp/2021/3/2/22307843/christian-miller-is-the-carolina-panthers-biggest-mystery
-
Honestly, I'm glad he isn't Newton. Cam was/is a special athlete, but I'm sure a few would say the same about Lance. That aside, for me, I'm hoping that the biggest difference is decision-making!
-
This is hardly the only video on Lance. Orlovsky says a lot of things contrary and that go against the grain. Hey, I could be wrong, but I'm OK with that. Orlovsky could be wrong also, as can Daniel Jeremiah, Booky Brooks, Greg Cosell and others! People must decide for themselves!
-
Because of his arm strength m, running ability, physical makeup and decision making (including quick decision making). He also has the work ethic and leadership abilities that the others have (some might argue moreso). Read all the draft profiles. I'm not the first person that has said this!

Mike Davis Signs 2-Year Deal with the Falcons
top dawg replied to Greatman77's topic in Carolina Panthers
Respect, but journey on! We'll see you next season! -
I don't know how anyone can say that with surety! It seems a little disingenuous. Both have some issues, Lance's being that he likely just needs more reps! He's got all the intangibles and the highest ceiling in the class!
-
You'd have to ask him that. Maybe he liked the massages!

REPORT: Panthers remain interested in Deshaun Watson trade
top dawg replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
It was 5 in two games last year. I'm sure those were big factors in his 45 QBR rating.
