Thomas, I dont know what you think I meant, but suffice it to say that I have been on the Huddle for a while. I know the consequences, and I can play the game just like anyone else if I so choose. There were some compelling reasons to abolish it in the first place, but now that it's back I will deal with it as I see fit, just like anyone else. Like Montsta basically said, this is Jeremy's site and he does with it as he wills. At the end of the day it's not a big deal.

This should bring us back to the days of wanton mean spiritedness and somewhat qualitative, but also highly nebulous pettiness.

Personally I think that it's way too early for excitement and guesswork over the depth chart at any position, much less WR, but I suppose that people the Huddle is busting out out of the cabin like an airbag at the moment of impact of post draft anticipation and subjective prognostication. So, for what it's worth, ESPN's Dave Newton's first write-up after the start of OTAs is worth it's grain of salt also. Though admittedly noting that Corey Brown had a decent showing today, Newton was most impressed by Stephen Hill. Newton noted that Hill's over-the-shoulder catch from Derek Anderson that led to a TD after Hill blew by the protection down field received the biggest reaction of the day from Cam Newton and others. David Newton also noted something that Panthers fans, who have perhaps been spoiled by little big man, Steve Smith, may not necessarily want to hear, and that's that size does matter when it comes to determining who will get the nod on game days (especially, all other things being equal). Ricky Proehl sounds excited also, noting that if Hill can show consistency, then he will be in the mix to not only play on the opposite side of Kelvin Benjamin, but also back up Benjamin if that were ever to become necessary. Hill is still humble and knows that he has a long way to go, much like all of the receivers and potential receivers who will make up the Panthers' 2015 receiving corps. But it's nice to see the competition get off to a nice start for two receivers that so many Huddlers believe have the most promise outside of Kelvin Benjamin and Devin Funchess.

Condolences to Markimus Prime's family and friends. Yes, I remember the name well. Thanks for sharing, not only to inform us of his passing (which always seems somewhat surreal, but is just real at the end of the day), but to help us realize that the Huddle is made up of real people behind the display names. RIP, Mark Wyatt.

And there lies the problem when it comes to evaluating Cam. You can't put him inside a box like most QBs. I am thinking that you have take the good with the bad and the bad with the good, and hope that his experience and better protection will finally give Cam that breakthrough inside the pocket. Cam is too good of a runner and impromptu creator to just throw him away because of a few errant passes here or there. Sometimes he is deadliest when he is on the run, but I think that he needs to be running on his terms. Hopefully the O-line play, along with our RBs that can make positive yards at the point of attack, as well as receivers that can separate and propose a pick-your-poison scenario for opposing defenses, will finally afford the world to truly see Cam's potential be fully manifested on game days.

If you are referring to last season, he hardly played at all (according to our very own PackersFan due to injury which immediately led to the emergence of Davante Adams, of course). If you are referring to the year before, part of the reason why he put up almost 700 yards was due in part to the injury of Cobb. In my opinion, based upon stats and the eye test, skills at special teams and blocking, Boykin is better than Brown (as I believe a lot of receivers are), but if Brown beats out Boykin I will be fine with it. Likewise, I would think that you would be invested in whomever turns out to be better for the team. If you've noticed, I haven't been posting nearly as much because I am ready for the competition to begin. All the going back and forth about Brown, Boykin, Byrd, Bersin or whoever is all going to come out in the wash relatively soon. At the end of the day, I just hope that the best people end up with the job, no matter what their names. All these little penny ante pissing matches are really no count (as my grandfather uses to say) at this point. The day for sarcasm will soon come to an end.

Red herring after red herring. I love how some of you gloss over the YAC, special teams contributions and down field blocking. I can play your game too. If you take the yards per reception plus the YAC, then Boykin is greater than Brown, not to mention that he is superior on special teams, and the vastly superior blocker.

I am genuinely glad. They won't be able to pin anything on the kid now. Hopefully the real killer will be caught and put under the jail.

But, basically, if Collins is the father he is probably fuged for at least the short term. That's where you'd have liked to see some more emotion. The more I talk, the more I see why the Panthers are in wait and see mode. Rae Carruth speaks for itself, but even without that, the situation is a sticky one unto itself. Even still, if Collins is cleared, then I think you'd have to throw your card into the hat, especially the Panthers.
