I mean, he really doesn't move the needle. He came in with a little fanfare, but has effectively been a bust regardless of whether it's been the 4-3 or 3-4.
-
Can't blame you...but I'm watching.

I flat out thought we'd pick Fields with an off chance of it being Slater. But I thought Fields was it, even though we had heard rumors of Horn. It should've been Fields though. I'll die on that hill, even though Fields has been up and down. I think that he's displayed enough upside to land rightful criticism upon Fitt and company.

That's somewhat of a different discussion. It's at least a nuance. I will concede that QB play makes a difference. How much? I don't know. I mean, regardless of who the pass is coming from and you stop it, you still stopped it. That being said, who's better is at least arguable.

Wilson isn't going to be traded. We may be able to work out a trade for D.K., and I'd be good with that.
-
Come on, man. He shut down Deebo Samuel, D.K. Metcalf and others. Samuel and Metcalf are certainly tough assignments. I'll concede that his prowess hasn't been displayed enough, but it's only because he hasn't been on the field.

I mean, Horn is better than Surtain when he plays. No one could foresee that Horn would only play one season worth of games in three years. Horn's injury history began when he got drafted. I can't put that on Fitterer.

We're just going to have to disagree. I don't see being petty and spiteful as being "shitty." People sometimes have valid reasons for the things that they do. If someone passes you over for a job and you end up a billionaire, then obviously they were in error. Moreover, John Corzine, his former boss that used to own that home was sketchy as hell. It's not like Tepper is Trump (https://www.seattletimes.com/nation-world/scottish-villagers-in-the-way-of-a-golf-course-learn-trump-has-a-thing-about-walls/), what Tepper did is more akin to poetic justice than being petty. Moreover, you act like Tepper never takes responsibility. I heard him take responsibility my own self. And here is another article discussing what I believe is a different presser from the one I looked at. https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/2023/01/31/panthers-owner-david-tepper-admits-mistake-ceo-hc-matt-rhule-frank-reich/ The presser that I took time to listen two about three times is here. Tepper took responsibility, and he mentioned being accountable to the fans. Tepper has a great appreciation for the fans because he was one. All that being said, he has yet to put a good product on the field. As he seems to be a thinking man, if not self-reflective, he's going to keep pounding (if you will) until we turn into a winning organization. He's going to have to figure that out. Along the way, I'm sure that he will make plenty of mistakes because he's human. In my opinion, nothing he has done speaks to definitely being a "shitty person" (save for upgrading his wife to a younger model, and I can't even definitely say that because that's his personal business...two sides to every story). And, even still, no one is 100 percent without fault. In my opinion, you need to take it easy with the value judgments.

Calling Tepper "a shitty person" because he's been an ineffective owner is something else. The Panthers are his team to relocate. That being said, he doesn't appear to be going anywhere, and I'm glad that he isn't. Personally, I think that the more practical thing to root for is that he gets his act together.

When is this going to be unpinned so it can go off into the aether?
-
Well, there's 2025. We should've drafted Fields (but we'd probably have messed him up too). At least it wouldn't have cost draft capital.
-
I disagree wholeheartedly. Teddy is a high level backup. Backups have become increasingly more valuable over time because they're likely to play during the season, and most contenders aren't going to want someone who "sucks" as a backup. That's why the higher level backups are paid markedly more money.

The 2023 season Be safe, guys. Happy Thanksgiving

LOL. They just wanna be right that's all, regardless of what they say. Everybody likes their electronic cookie for being right before anyone else. In general, I personally try to give players and coaches time, especially if they are in a bad situation and don't have much of a track record. Bryce could be everything they're saying (and less), but I can't say that with surety, and I don't see the benefit in guessing at this point. I will say that I hope he proves his doubters wrong.
-
Teddy never "sucked." He's just not a high level starter, if starter at all. Like many QBs, he was just over-drafted. He's a decent backup however.
-
You read my mind. Scary.
-
Bryce is a rookie. Rookies in the best of situations throw INTs, much less a rookie with human turnstiles for protection.
-
I mean, I'm a little encouraged by those stats because I thought that they'd be much worse. And considering that he has been sacked so many damned times---and that's not even including how many times he has been pressured---I'm surprised he hasn't been broken in half physically and emotionally. Some of you guys may not like it, but I'm withholding judgement. If he bombs next season after we've presumably improved the line and weapons, then I'll give up.

OL PFFs grades are out. *Warning for the weak stomach*

It's an O-Bind as opposed to an O-line. -

Poor Bryce! -
That's where I am too. But I will say that I am beginning to wonder if his height is an issue. I really don't know because of the clusterfug around him. Perhaps I'm being reactionary due to being a Panthers fan, but the offense is about the worst that I've seen. No one save for maybe Thielen, Chuba and Tremble is playing with any heart out there. Maybe Blackshear too...but the offense looks as though people are just going through motions.

Was thinking the same thing.
