Th 6’2 prototypical QB is a myth, look at the shotgun percentages
top dawg replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
See, that's where you're absolutely wrong. People that want him are concerned about his size, but not enough to pass him over for obviously inferior QBs. By the way, I'm going on record right now saying that Hooker might be the best of the bunch (but that's only if Young's size proves to be catastrophic). -

Well, we'll probably know what's what by October---certainly November. -

He's 6'2". I figured after the first sentence there was no point in reading the rest. -

I told y'all from the beginning that if we move up to one, it would be for Young. Traits, intangibles, tape---the tea leaves have spelled B R Y C E Y O U N G for a long time. Neither Stroud, Levis, or Anthony Richardson had displayed the consistent goods that Young has put forth for a couple of years. -
It's in Fitt's blood. He must get his fix.

Honestly, we already know who it is, so spoilers have already been spoiled. I guess maybe day two can be spoiled as well...

The Devil's lettuce? I'm assuming cannabis.

Dude, you realize that he just admitted that Bryce is the pick? "We'll work with him..." There it is.

I sense a little Bulldog hate. Bennett, though not nearly as magical as Young (few are) at extending plays, he is not some statue out there. https://www.google.com/amp/s/247sports.com/Article/Stetson-Bennett-has-evolved-into-an-elite-CFB-QB-Georgia-football-national-championship-TCU-202312296/Amp/ -

I don't know what's so confusing. Assuming the smallest QB prospect by far in the modern NFL has not been in the NFL, there is no data which to say whether he will be successful or not. Now of course, that is assuming that all you Size Bros don't accept Drew Brees or Russell Wilson in the sample size (or Joe Theisman or Montana, or any smaller QB). Assuming that Young has the smallest frame of all, he'll be a pioneer, as will the franchise that drafts him. How Young goes will probably speak to whether or not smaller guys will get drafted so high in the future. On an off note, "Go Stetson!" -

If it has never been done, the data really doesn't show a damned thing to be honest. -

I could argue that if Gettleman had acquired a competent LT to protect Cam, then we'd have a Super Bowl championship right now. He was solely responsible for the worst contract signing in franchise history in my book. I am not enamored in the slightest with Gentleman's roster construction. He may not have "wasted" them, but had he done his job better, Cam and Luke would be champs, and Rivera would've never had his tiny run as defacto GM.

That was planned meltdown mitigation. From my perspective, a surprise was never in the cards (even though the media was doing it's best to generate suspense). -

LOL. Asheville traffic is a cakewalk compared to other cities in North Carolina. -
I don't know that anyone on the Huddle has fallen madly in love with Young. At least I haven't seen it. What I can say is that there are those, myself included, who believe that he has the best tape, unique talent, and the most natural feel for what he needs to do situationally to have success on the field at any given moment during a game. We all know what his presumed shortcoming is. Some have decided that makes him untouchable, while others say that when weighed against everything else, the risk is with the reward.
