  1. I agree...except for Burrow...he's the only other jumping to mind. Outside of him, I think you are correct. He looks to be able to do it all, like I've said, Manning I arm from the looks of it, but certainly not his processing speed....not many will ever have that. He can drill, float, hit guys in stride and on time....very important in Franks offense, and what made Manning so damn deadly. He just makes the throws, and the drop backs look sooo smooth.
  2. I mentioned it the first time I posted here about the trade... But the moment I heard about it, real fast, I texted a group chat McCowns breakdown of him prior to him becoming our QB coach. If he was that excited about him, then that just had to be the pick. Then I started watching more and more throws, snaps, plays....and CJ just made it all look so easy. Now that can be system...but you still have to be able to hit the damn throws....and he did, easily. I didn't think for an instant Young was as small as he was....until I watched him....yikes...just scary scary stuff to me...but whatever, is what it is. He's special, I'm just not sure he has the type arm to create like he did in college, and certainly doesn't have the size that comes with the hits of being creative. We have an offensive staff that knows which will work best in their offense, they've made up their minds, and IMO, likely did before moving up. I prefer Stroud, he seems like he would excel in the type of offense that I enjoy watching...but who knows what Frank wants to do, and I trust him a lot more than some dumb fan who likes to watch football, and the QB position in specific.
  3. Great write up. This is the first time in my life that I've felt pretty good about the trajectory of the Panthers. We really seem to be building a team, and not just the 53 man roster. Like how an owner should build a team if they didn't know what they were doing. Not pointing any fingers here..... Overpay for some of the very best Front Office personnel, who all have a relationship or get along well with each other. Trust them to select your coaching staff...once again, overpay. Sit in your box 8 Sunday's per year, and another billionaires box the other 9. Then, hope you get to sit in your box once again for the 9th home game that season, and possibly a 10th.
  4. Which is fine, if you have prime Aaron Rodgers. Not many are ever close to Aaron Rodgers.
  5. Came back to type.... The under center, or lack thereof from Bryce is something that REALLY bothers me. It's hard to have a good run game if you can't play under center. With Josh and Frank in there...you have to think they would want someone who isn't limited to the gun.
  6. Couple of those things kinda confirms what I was seeing watching them play. Young is better at shorter passes, and is better under duress. Stroud is better at mid range, and can throw deep, but that's not his cup of tea. I still kinda liken them to Manning 1's arm and placement for CJ, and Wilsons ability to create and bomb here and there for huge splash plays. I do NOT think that Stroud has Mannings ability to see the field, and I also don't think that Young has as good of an arm, or is as good of a runner as Early Russ.
  7. CJ's style of play makes it easier for those around him, Young's makes everyone else's job harder. Line may or may not know where you are going. WR's may not know what you are trying to do, or where to be, etc... I hope this is a choice between two HOF'ers, not likely, but I'm hoping....in that instance you are kinda sitting here picking between Russell Wilson and Peyton Manning. They are both great, both will wear gold jackets together...but you may prefer one play style to the other. I prefer Manning.
  8. Used to be like this, no more. Can't afford the time drain, that said, this is going to lessen the product, and cause more injuries....again, it would be a hard NO from me.
  9. Touch windy here to toss a line, and I don't feel like cleaning fish this afternoon, but the bite is starting to heat up really good. Ready for a flat day to run outside and deep drop on some Grouper.
  10. And yet, it's The King right now. This is not me taking up for him, more of a, no wonder the owners are cool with his paycheck. And IMO, it's just wrong to do that to fans. If I had booked tickets to fly to Green Bay and rented hotel rooms so I could show my son Lambeau....and they Flexed it two weeks prior......boy, I'd be HOT.
  11. Welp. It's noon on Friday in Wilmington, so it's about time for work to be done today. Can't decide if I'm going to take the boat for a spin around the beach, or head over to my buddies house and sit on the dock with him and have a cool one. Decisions decisions.
  12. 100%. Can he place the ball where he wants it, and can he get it there when it needs to be there? CJ looks like he does both....and well. Kind like watching Brees and Manning 1. Those two, while neither having top shelf arms, knew exactly where the ball needed to be, and the anticipation to make sure it was there at the exact time it was supposed to be. That makes everyones job SOOOO much easier, except the defense. Give me the pure passer, please.
  13. Precisely what I saw. I do not see above average arm strength from Young. Not that CJ has a Cutler or Stafford arm, but it's more than enough. Young scares me as a prospect.
  14. This is my fear. Young plays a little like Mahommes....but he doesn't have the size, nor the arm strength for it to translate easily to the NFL. We shall see.
  15. Chiefs LT left, and many thought it was because it's very hard to play T for a QB who loves to extend plays...ala Young. I don't like having to play out of the gun, and I think that Young will need that to survive/thrive at the next level.
  16. The biggest fears of each QB are: Young: Size and injury concerns. Followed by arm strength. Stroud: Can he play in a muddled pocket. Product of system. Leader. (new one who knows) So, if Young gets crushed game 6, then doesn't make it through year 2....what do you do? The one big ole fear came true, and you have egg on your face. If Stoud can't read the defense, can't stand up to the rush....well same thing. If Stroud get's injured, or Young can't really see the field...it's a little different, IMO.
  17. Yup. Tepper needs coverage, and not the kind he's gotten since he bought the league...Fitt and Reich are happy to play along.
  18. Whoa. How old is that pic? Spent way too much time, and wayyy too much money drinking at Bridge Tender. Spring and Fall in Wilmington, simply the best.
  19. If the QB coach wanted to see me stand on my head and gargle peanut butter, while attempting me juggle apples...bring it on. I could't care less what or how they put them through, so long as it's not painful or puts them at risk of injury.
  20. No. Been here my whole life, have lost a few shingles TOTAL. Big ole nothing, unless you live directly on the beach, and in that case, you don't care, you just rebuild it back. I think the difference between people who like Raleigh and Charlotte, vs. Wilmington and the Mountains has more to do with what folks enjoy doing. I LOATHE being indoors. Sporting events? Nope. Museums and Bars? Nope. My hobbies include surfing, diving, spearfishing, boating, outdoor woodworking projects, etc.... Don't watch TV and the only time I'm indoors is when I'm sleeping or working. Walking trails and biking around on electric bikes ain't my idea of fun.
  21. Couldn't care what the team uses, if the minds in that building think it's worth it, it's worth it.
  22. You can say past isn't relevant to QB size because it all changed with Brees and Wilson....that could be true. It's also could be true that typically smaller players can't hold up, nor can they typically make the throws needed to get to the next level at QB. That said, there are very few starts in this league by guys 6' and under, compared to 6'3" and over.
  23. I agree. If Frank and Fitt don't know who will best fit what they are trying to do by now.....well....that's....not good. At least how I see it.
