Arnold / Tremble / Manhertz would have been a nice trio, but we're more 11 so I understand that move, fortunately Tremble seems to have the blocking acumen AND the athleticism and ability to be a receiving threat.

Carolina Panthers - Baltimore Ravens Joint Practice 1
SetfreexX replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Shi's build reminds me of Antonio Brown / Emmanuel Sanders -- that 5'10 / 185 ish -- quick feet, vertical speed, consistent separation. This is not a ''he'll be these guys post'' it's a ''he reminds me of these guys post''. AB & Sanders were 5th and or 6th round picks respectively if memory serves, so this could be a comp on talent meeting opportunity in regard to a career arc moving forward. I just wish we'd selected Fields to go along with this infusion of young skill talent. We had -- CMC / Moore / Robbie We added -- TMJ / Tremble / Shi That's just a piece of the personnel skill pie, the only season that might usurp this is 2013. -
Carolina Panthers - Baltimore Ravens Joint Practice 1

Darius Clark's footwork is so clunky, 6'2 / 210 seems like he'd have better feet - Chuba is 6' / 210 -- and CMC listed around 5'11 / 207 not a ton of weight difference. -
Rhule: Moton is the top RT and second LT behind Erving.

It's a slow day, it's taking forever for them to release our cuts (as of when I started this post), practice is delayed to 2:45pm est, and now there's a Tornado Warning in Spartanburg, so I say why not. Offense - 25 Total QB (2) - Sam Darnold / PJ Walker - I think we ultimately release Grier or move him for a 6th or 7th round conditional pick, with it being a 17 game season that extra spot is better suited elsewhere, and if we lose two QB's anyway it doesn't matter. I think we add a body to the PS however. HB (3) - Christian McCaffrey / Chuba Hubbard / Trenton Cannon -- I think we try to get Rodney Smith pack to the PS, Cannon is our KR / Gunner so he sticks. FB (1) - Rod Smith T (5) - Cam Erving / Taylor Moton - Greg Little / Brady Christensen / FA TBD -- I don't see Scott making the team, and 2nd round investment / depth sees Little survive C / G (5) - Matt Pardis / Pat Elflein / John Miller -- Dennis Daley / Deonte Brown TE (3) - Dan Arnold / Tommy Tremble / Ian Thomas -- I think we are locked in on this, I don't see Sullivan making a push WR (6) - DJ Moore / Robbie Anderson / Terrace Marshall Jr - David Moore / Brandon Zylstra / Shi Smith ______________________________ Defense - 25 Total DE (4) - Brian Burns / Morgan Fox -- Yetur Gross-Matos / Marquise Haynes -- Christian Miller to the PS IDL (4) - Derrick Brown / Daquan Jones -- Bravvion Roy / Daviyon Nixon - Hoskins to the PS OLB (4) - Shaq Thompson / Haason Reddick -- Frankie Luvu / Julian Stanford ILB (3) - Denzell Perryman / Jermaine Carter -- FA TBD, Josh Bynes was not impressive, looked slow and missed several tackles, turning 32 CB (6) - Donte Jackson / Jaycee Horn / AJ Bouye -- Rashaan Melvin / Keith Taylor / STO III -- Pride to IR S (4) - Jeremy Chinn / Juston Burriss -- Kenny Robinson / Sam Franklin -- I think we will try to get Hartsfield onto the PS. ________________________________ ST's - 3 K - Joey Slye P - Joseph Charlton LS - Fletcher -- It sucks but I think this is where we say goodbye to JJ

Haskins is #71 the DT (6'5 / 315), that gets there second, Sean Chandler #34 is the S that makes the initial contact.

#34 I believe is Sean Chandler

“We think he’s an option for us at right tackle”

I don’t think he'd clear that waiver, thats why I referenced IR. We tried that with Tyler Gaffney and NE scooped him up. Pride has promise, and the athleticism, just needs time to develop.

For one I would like to know what happened, I hope there are answers today. He was pretty bad yesterday, but he also held his own last season. I wouldn't put him in the cut bucket just yet, if I had to guess based off the optics of the injury, he's placed on IR, and we see what he has next year if recovered.

This was AWESOME!!!
-
I wouldn't call it lucky, if he doesn't keep working, and maintaining his balance this is a stuffed run; aside from that Zylstra staying engaged. This is an example of a player making something out of nothing.

This is why I... 1) Don't understand the Fletcher pick in the 6th with a guy like Jamie Newman available, he's younger, athletic and has arm talent, Grier is 26 I think at this point he is what he is. 2) Passing on Mond when we were wheeling and dealing all of those picks day 2, we had the ammunition to take a mid round QB. 3) Ultimately passing on Fields, still not okay with that, when it happened and still to this day. _________________________________________ Overall I like our draft class, so I won't complain but so much, BUT I think we made some mistakes as well, time will tell.

See Lamar, and Kyle, its not about 4.4, its the athletic ability that leads to extended plays behind a "meh" OL. They took the "safe" approach but you can't hit a homerun if you don't swing the bat. We bunted at no. 8.

This aged well, lol! Now 2 TDs in rofl!

I'm on the ''should have drafted Fields'' train, I said this leading up to and after the draft. I will support the QB I have. and Horn's talent likely can't be denied. But an elite athletically gifted QB, plus the rookie QB salary, plus not giving Sam 18.8M in 2022 to have even more cap to retain our best is the smart move to me long-term. We are a rebuilding team, and when you do that, you use new bricks, not recycled ones. I think they simply got a guy they are comfortable with, if they turn him around and the team is 7-9 wins they all look like genius' but if this flakes, IMO Rhule is on a short least as this will be two years in a row that '' you got your guy'' and now he's gone. Sam has 3 years of NFL experience, to me this is a put up or shut up year, you'd have more leniency with a rookie, even if he sat behind Sam, that's what killed it for me, KC had a perennial playoff team, and still took a QB. We're not GB with Rodgers, we have ZERO QB options behind Sam, and if he flakes, or is injured we're in the same boat in 2022. Bad planning IMO.
-
I think they've moved off of Okung unless an injury happens, feel like a saw a tweet that basically alluded to the fact he didn't feel the offers he was getting were respectable. IMO, I can't see us going past Week 4 without looking at something in regard to LT -- vet cuts, FA signing, etc. Cam Erving is also not the most dependable when it comes to health. I'm curious to see the solution this year.

Kurt Warner takes a look at Panther WR situation
SetfreexX replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Listed at 5'11 / 6' based on where you look, but weighs 210 lbs...That's RB weight which is why he's so good through contact after the catch. -

I dunno, feels like most talking heads have been giving him the benefit of the doubt coming off that Jets stint and the turn-around Tannehill saw once he went to a more talented / better coached roster. DJ & Robby are 1K + receivers, CMC is a 1K + runner / receiver -- there's only a handful of teams with a better top 3. If the combination of Arnold / Thomas / Tremble can give us 800 yards collectively our offense will be looking like one of the best IF Darnold's decision making in NY was an aberration based on trying to do too much too often / bad personnel / coaching. -
Fox is Smaller than Yetur by 2 inches in height, and 5lbs in weight.

If you're asking about fan fest, I can't say it looked like ''that'' many people, but it was a good turn out I'd say.
