  1. So receiver separation needs to exist...
  2. See the Jets record during Sam's time there when he didn't play. It's like 0-10 if memory serves. Top 5 QB picks generally go to bad teams. Which means bad records. Lance had a two year removed SB team trade up for him. I expect a lot from him early.
  3. Didn't get that impression at all.
  4. Good watch if you have time...
  5. Tremble is a ''forecast'' pick, excellent for the short term in the sense Rhule has been saying he wants to build a ''tough, and physical'' team. He checks those boxes. The interesting thing with Tremble is the POTENTIAL, he's probably the day one best blocking TE on our team, and that's generally the hard part for rookie TE's. Hands get better with reps, and ND just did not use him that way, running a 4.59 and having enough height and weight (Panther's site says he's 6'4 / 250, article says 6'3 / 240) -- it's a lot to be intrigued about. In an offense like ours that creates a space, and a QB that isn't timid, I think we could see some decent production in the passing game as a rookie. He has the athleticism on those dump offs to turn the corner on defenders. With the attention our other options, receive he should have some space to work with out of the backfield, and underneath.

  7. Go watch ALA tape, he has a good amount of reps at RG, if memory serves the LG swap was for 2020.
  8. Offense: QB - Sam Darnold / PJ Walker / Tommy Stevens HB - CMC / Chuba Hubbard -- Depth -- Rodney Smith, Trenton Cannon FB - Tommy Tremble (based on personnel package) TE - Dan Arnold / Ian Thomas & Tommy Tremble (based on personnel package) WR - DJ Moore / Robbie Anderson / Terrace Marshall / David Moore / Shi Smith OL - Brady Christensen / Pat Elflein / Matt Paradis / Deonte Brown / Taylor Moton (I think Brady has a chance being a bit older, and developed physically, Brown's track record at ALA can't be denied so I think he edges out Miller) -- Depth -- Erving, Little, Dailey, Scott, Miller -------------------------- Defense: (Showing as a 4-3) DL - Burns / Brown / Jones / Gross-Matos -- Depth -- Fox, Haynes, Roy, Nixon, Miller LB - Shaq Thompson / Denzell Perryman / Hasaan Reddick -- Depth -- Jermain Carter (Area of need) CB - Jaycee Horn / Donte Jackson / AJ Bouye -- Depth -- Troy Pride / Rashaan Melvin / Keith Taylor S - Jeremy Chinn / Juston Burris -- Depth -- Kenny Robinosn, Sam Franklin, Myles Hartfield ----------------------------- In my opinion another off-ball LB, and veteran safety are needed, I feel good most elsewhere on the roster.
  9. People wanted him because Olsen was oft injured / showing signs of aging and if memory serves we were picking in the range he got drafted. The real issue was he was like a 25 year old rookie if memory serves.
  10. A lot of people need to start watching the pressers between draft days, you get some solid insight. We got the extra 3rd as mentioned - 2nd round value in 2022 We also received a future 4th - that covers the one we gave up for 2022 We also re-couped the 6th -------------------------------------------- And to take it further beyond those points, we started this draft with 7 picks, and ended it with 11. I'm sure many of us were thrown after we passed on Fields, but by the time Friday wrapped the plan really took shape for me. I understand WHY they passed even if I don't agree, they're building the best possible ROSTER, as we saw with SF, if you have a complete team, you can make a move for a QB, and we're not tied long term to Darnold. I will saw I'd swap out Fields for Horn knowing how our draft went, and I'd have not picked up Darnold's 5th and let those two battle in camp to get the most out of each. But I'm also not paid millions to make these decisions so
  11. Locks: 3 Moore / Anderson / Marshall Penciled in: 2 Davide Moore - Physical prowess similar to DJ's, makes a lot of contested catches vertically, has the 3rd most experience behind DJ and Robbie Shi Smith - Has a build, and athleticism that should make him a good fill in for Curtis, he's not as thick as Curtis, but is closer to a true WR vs Curtis who was a true hybrid Special Teamer: 1 I think this spot goes to Zylstra because he's been available, and has in game experience, this could easily be Kirkwood as he brings a bit more as a receiver, but he was hurt all year, I believe he only appeared in one game. PS: Bayless / Kirkwood or Zylstra (if eligible) / Simon
  12. Bouye, and Jackson will probably be the ones moving in and out based on matchups, I don't see Hartsfield doing a lot of this at all, he was depth last year, and IMO didn't show enough to be more than that. Keep in mind Rashaan Melvin is also 6'2, and we have Pride as well who flashed as a rookie. Not a lot of reason for a UDFA guy like Hartsfield to see many snaps in coverage at corner. Stantley Thomas-Oliver had some nice moments too.
  13. Fuuuuugggg Dalton - 1yr / 10M, and they traded a future 1st, and a 4th and 5th for Fields Darnold - 1yr / 4M prior to the 5th getting picked up today -- We pass on Fields, this is nagging at me man, shiiiii
  14. I know I'm not alone in having my hopes for a potential franchise QB crushed by the selection of Jaycee Horn...still sucks a little but. The ONLY thing holding it down for me is what this defense is STARTING to look like. DL - Derrick Brown / Dequan Jones / Yetur Gross-Matos / Morgan Fox -- Depth, Bravvion Roy / PJ Jones EDGE - Brian Burns / Hasaan Reddick-- Depth, Marquis Haynes / Christian Miller Off-ball LB - Shaq Thompson / Denzel Perryman -- Depth, Jermaine Carter Jr. Corner - Jaycee Horn / Donte' Jackson / AJ Bouye -- Depth, Rashaan Melvin / Troy Pride Safety - Jeremy Chinn / Justin Burris -- And everybody else -------------------------------------------------------------------- We have made 8 STRAIGHT DEFENSIVE DRAFT PICKS FROM LAST YEAR'S DRAFT TO LAST NIGHT'S PICK. I think today we're looking at Safety, and OL along with trading back to try to get additional picks to address those positions. On paper we look like we have the makings of a very good defense, the safety spot could also see a veteran come in post draft as we have some room to make a move there. Tonight should be interesting. I hope the front office is right, but knowing what Fields brings as a passer / runner, it's bittersweet.
  15. I just don't see how we could operate under the assumption that Darnold is it... Darnold / Walker / Grier / Stevens That QB depth is abysmal, and Darnold is UNPROVEN and coming up on either the 5th year option + future extension -- that is a HUGE risk to skip on a QB like Fields, hell even Lance knowing we have a year they can sit, and we don't have to pick up Darnold's option. To me it just makes too much sense not to do.
  16. I'm not sure which presser you saw, but the one from the 27th seems a little different in tone --
  17. I mean you'd have to see it at least somewhat as cold feet on a prospect, to me them trading up in ''win now'' mode as some eluded to never made a ton of sense when you're looking at the 3rd, 4th, 5th best QB base don how you view -- Jones / Lance / Fields It's unlikely any of these three guys could be better than Jimmy G. year one...so why not continue to invest in the team as a whole, and now those future picks are gone -- this has gotten interesting, because man if they get it wrong.....sheesh. The Mahomes jump didn't cost this much if memory serves, and that's what the move will be compared to.
  18. For those that don't know how this piece worked.
  19. No, the point is ARI solved their QB issue by being aggressive and not working with ONLY left overs. The BEST LT's are known by name, so the POINT that you missed is, you can get the QB first and BUILD around them knowing you have that position settled. But being as you are it's no surprise the sentiment of the statement was lost on you.
  20. This is the NFL, there is no such thing as FAIR, produce, and be available -- we moved off our franchise's BEST player for those reasons. Darnold doesn't get or deserve a ''fair chance'' if a better option is in the draft, he was Plan F up to this point.
