Stacks and screens worked early. Saints never stopped either. Panthers just stopped running them when Zavala got a false start penalty. Not sure if Reich is a good play caller.
-
All I wanted this season was an NFL offense. I guess that's too much to ask for.
-
Reich out here calling screens to Thielen when Laviska destroyed the Saints on that play last year. Make it make sense.

Agree. And they HAVE to scheme guys open. This is so reminiscent of Rivera. Every body run your routes and get open. No one can get open but Theilen. Unfortunately he lacks speed so he doesn't stay open.
-
Yeah. I think they should mix it up a little now.
-
Hill did a good job holding on to the ball. That was a forced fumble type of hit!
-
definitely a catch

And you're an A-hole! interpreting the negative like your character defines. I love Shaq as a player. I just think he's out of position.
-
Agree. But not in the middle. Wish they'd move him back to the outside. I think he's more effective there. He doesn't play downhill and that's a MUST in the middle. He tends to wait on runners to come to him.
-
Don't like Shaq that much in the middle anyway. just saying
-
They haven't stopped the stack. They haven't stopped the screens. Keep running them until they figure it out. Then counter it. Don't stop what's working just because...
-
Gotcha. Not much of an advantage then.

Didn't Zavala play LG with Icky at LT at NC State? Wouldn't that make more sense?

From my POV, it looked like AR slowed down before crossing the LOS. If so, he learned a valuable lesson. Cam learned the same one.
-
Don't see it that way. I think Bryce is not on the same page with his WRs yet. He's seeing things they aren't. Once they start working together, we'll see the offense improve. This defense is good enough to win games - as long as they don't allow the CBs to lose games.
-
This ball better go to Horton
-
Michigan needs to keep feeding Blake Corum. Bad things happen when he isn't getting the ball. They really aren't that good.

I agree that a Tedd Ginn Jr. forces defenses to respect the deep ball. He was a 50/50 catch guy but you had to respect his speed every play. A safety had to stay over the top because your CB was not gonna be able to run with him if he was within 10 yards of the LOS. Bates wouldn't have had the option of cheating up if there was a guy that made him stay deep. Hopefully Chark can fill that role. If not, then the FO needs to find that guy. Even Byrd would have helped yesterday.

Instant gratification will not apply with this team, or with Bryce. He'll have some good games and he'll have some bad ones like Sunday. The team will lose because of him and they'll win because of him. Hopefully the wins begin to outnumber the losses sooner rather than later, but he'll need to develop experience before that happens. He was Bated (pun intended) by a vet yesterday due to lack of experience. Other than those few plays, he looked good enough to start. No QB makes every read and every throw. And he has plenty of arm strength to be effective. Take your lumps early and reap the benefits later. Oh and develop these young WRs. They are not helping the cause.

I love Jake Delhomme! Dude was a firecracker and a great leader. I guess it was his inconsistency. Some days he looked like a top 5 QB and other days a bottom 5. Delhomme was like a box of chocolates. When he was on, he was ON! But when he wasn't...
-
I just remember most of those comeback victories being needed because Jake threw untimely INTs. He took way too many chances with the ball. That's why he fell off the cliff so badly when he lost his zip. That was his game. And it wasn't just Smitty. It was Smitty and Moose.
-
Oh I don't care enough about Jones to defend him. I'm just being objective about THIS game. Is he a great QB? Heck no. Is he the reason they're getting their ish pushed in right now? No. No he isn't.
-
He was the right QB for this team. He gave no fuggs about putting it up for grabs for Smitty and Moose. Gunslinger. That worked for that team.
-
Jake Delhomme wasn't a good QB. He was a gunslinger on one of the most complete teams in the NFL.

He was running well early in the game. The Cowboys adjusted. He isn't a RB. That's what Saquon is for. They can't run the ball and every time he drops back, someone is in his face. His first INT should have been a fumble by Saquon. A QB can't win by himself and his team isn't helping him right now.
