Analyzing the 10 OL who should make the roster
saX man replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
The one thing I'd note is to not sleep on Erving being a bit better than average and could hold his own at LT for most of the season. He hasn't always graded the highest but he's really turned his focus on LT in his career when many thought he was going to be a center. edit: and he's 28 so not super old for a lineman -

But I won't discount someone giving Miller a run for his money, that spot is not locked up. Brown, Moore could compete. Daley and Elf appear to serve as the ultimate swing-line depth guys that are totally capable of starting. -

Thanks for your continued posting volumes. Helps keep good content while we're entering the deadzone. I also like Trent Scott v. Erving battle if Christensen is at LG. We traded up for Christensen and intended to pick him in R2 (per rumors) so I'd like to think he just starts at LG at a minimum. LT wise: Scott last year: 347 snaps, 3 penalties, 2 sacks allowed Erving: 279 snaps, 1 penalty, 1 sack allowed If you look at Erving's old draft profiles, it's interesting. A super athletic center/left tackle with high intelligence. Almost all applaud his athleticism and proactiveness in the run game. The negatives were his technique. Erving's size: 6'5 315, 34.5" arms, 10"+ hands, 84"+ wingspan. Scott's size: 6'5 320, 34 3/8" arms (can't find winsgspan but he should be right around 84" as well) Both are better run blockers, both are very athletic for their size. Erving seems to have allowed some more pressures but doesn't make as many mental errors. Erving has also evolved to being a full time LT since he was in KC. My guess: Erving-Christensen-Paradis-Miller-Moton -
This is where we'll see a change in approach with Fit+Rhule. We won't be scurrying to sign voids in the roster after drafts as Hurney did. They filled it prior to a comfort level so they could draft who they wanted. I wouldn't expect much movement on the FA front.

This is excluding X-Clown bc that is no doubt #1 always and forever

There's a few games that I have just cemented in the cranium: -1st Cowboys playoff win at home -29-10 Cowboys win at home -The OT field goal blocking 12-9 against TB -Foster's huge game in our win against KC (I don't know why this stands out) -Philly Conf Title Game -NE Monday Night win w/Cam -The Dalls Turkey-day LukeMassacre a.k.a At Romo's End

Nick Goings is about as JAG as JAG gets, but I wouldn't call it endearing. Though he did what he could when he filled in. Never going to get YFL, but was never going to break one out. I think he had like one or two runs in his career over 40 yards. Love the Chad Cota reference. & Mark Fields.

Damn how did I already forget James

Burns, Brown, Chinn, Horn watch out Not to mention a lot of younger guys with the potential to blow up and some proven vets. I would say the only middling guys left are Shaq and Donte who we were al quite excited about less than 2 years ago so I'd say this defense is in amazing shape going into 2021.

I mean let's be frank: Eric Davis - Stud, I think our clear best CB Chris Gamble - Close second, we simply started him and didn't have to worry much about his side of the field Ken Lucas - Fantastic for 2-3 years, declined quickly but he gave us some awesome seasons Josh Norman - Overrated in my book. Had a really good year back when but his showboat nature made him larger than he really was. Ricky Manning Jr. - Another guy who's best was awesome but didn't sustain long enough Terry Cousin - Him and Steussie were my two least favorite Fox era Am I missing anyone? I think the bar is a tad high w/ Gamble & Davis but it's entirely possible.

Plan A: Christensen works out; we're groovy at LT Plan B: We look at the better of Scott+Erving *If plan B happens, we monitor Scott's growth, potentially go LT in 2021 high if he doesn't seem like a multi-year starter. -- I can see Christensen-Elflein-Paradis-Miller-Moton starting off the season could end up in a lot of ways... Scott-Christensen-Paradis-Miller-Moton Erving-Christensen-Paradis-Miller-Moton Christensen-Elflein-Paradis-Erving-Moton And then do not discount Brown or Moore giving LG, C, or RG a run for their money.

Our minicamp roster printout lists him at 6'3 320 so we're all over the place like Liza Minelli on a stairmaster
-
Either way, he's a huge mother f*cker who can move pretty damn quick.
-
I've seen 6'2 330 with 34.5" arms and nearly 10" hands. PFF, NFL.com, and elsewhere. I don't think the senior bowl does more than 1/2" and doesn't round up.

Feeling either a Boulevardier or Barbera red tonight with the fizzle horn:
-
I really wanted him in like the 4th/5th. So happy he's on the squad. Hope he sticks and become a great middle piece.

That is a much more complex animal this year. In time sharks.

Short term ideal: LT-Christensen (Scott, Erving) LG-Daley (riddens the injury bug) (Erving, Elflein, Brown) C-Paradis (Moore, Elflein) RG-Miller (Brown, Moore) RT-Moton -- Long term ideal: LT-Brady Christensen LG-Deonte Brown C-David Moore RG-2022 Draft Pick/FA RT-Taylor Moton

The Norwegian Winter Games of 94... we’re transitioning from The Belgian to the Italian team.

One more remains...and he's big enough (literally) for his own post:

Helllloooo people. This is Jefferson Starship Saxtonian with a PSA: Sam Darnold Here is the guy we now need to sell ourselves on. DO IT. Buy in, let's just get optimistic and make a hype train. The talent is there, the guy is built to be an NFL QB. May the elder gods throw the winds of growth and reclamation into our favor. He can draw. He can move. He can make a groove. Terrace Marshall This guys name is Terrace. It's an interesting name. He's also a very cool cat, seems to be a super promising receiver from everything I'm seeing. 2nd round receivers are on a roll these days...maybe we found the guy that performs on the level of Waddle & Chase and in the second. Maybe just maybe. I'm genuinely excited about him more than anyone else. Shi Smith Look out folks, I think we found a gem here. Just saying. KR/PR, he attacks the ball. Really fights for it. I really hope his quickness translates and he doesn't suffer the fate of the Austins and Pharoah Coopers of the world. He'll be a better Pharoah: Chuba Hubbard This brother is attached to the earth. Very quick operator on the ground. Did seem to have the slipsies but he has a really nice package of goods. Packaging of many goods. And hello to you sir! Smash mouth, smack you in the mouth, mad man at H-TE. He is Armah+Manhertz combined with the attitude of a LB. And possibly more if he really develops as a receiver. I'm a believer. We might as well walk with this one on the sun. And then, last but not least, there's this this man... Is this athletic, sushi loving, account major w/attitude our long term LT? Well this is the crux of my spiel. We have a fully revamped offense if he takes the cake at left tackle. Also, I don't mind if he takes some cakes as long as he stays so freaking athletic. Yeah, shortish side dangles, but there's always exceptions to the 34" rule. ciao. -sax

There's a lot of good Dicks out there. -
Factor in the "reduced touchdown metric" which eliminates passes to wide open guys within 10 yards that then do all the work and he likely had a solid 6 TD, 18 INT year
