I wouldn't be opposed. -
Rumor: Panthers, Titans, and Eagles Contact Michael Crabtree
Zaximus replied to rscott94's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm happy we're finally looking into options, but I'm not sure Crabtree or anyone left really fills out need (for speed, lol). -
Please don't try. Posts like this is worse than complaining posts. Homers and head in the sand users are just as bad on an extreme side of things.
-
No more possession receivers man. That is why we sucked last year early. We need SPEED. Unfortunately, we lost out on the best speed guy or didn't try (more likely). Now it's posession receivers and low tier guys left mostly.
-
He "could" be. Smith is more proven as a burner and more dependable (still has some issues though). You get someone that is more of a sure thing here and THEN draft for someone. I will admit, the only thing I don't like about the Torrey Smith deal is 5 years, if we did it I'd rather 3 or 4, plan it so KB is up for extension when it's ending.
-
Actually, it did. He had over 900 yards and like 5 td's. Perfect numbers for a #2. Bad example. Better example would be Wahle.
-
I don't think he would be 90%, but nice try. Check those bifocals.
-
Johnson isn't Smith speed I dont believe, but I'm not argueing Kaep is overrated lol. We needed to sign someone AND draft someone, so I agree with the draft. It's still a crap shoot on drafting WRs despite ONE amazing year last year, so someone proven would help big time in case the draft pick doesn't pan out.
-
But would solve 1 of the 2 largest issues this team has, which is lack of speed on the outside. The other is LT which may not be fixed in FA anyway.
-
They probably would have been better off, but like Cam he's needed speed at WR (even though he has a lot of other issues). They decided to give their QB talent, we decided on Ed Dickson.
-
LOL @ the mentality on this board. This is why we're a mediocre franchise. You have to mix drafting with getting the RIGHT players for what you need. Smith's contract is not bad, considering Maclin is making 11 mill and Cobb is at 10. Smith has probably proved more than them in his career. Not to mention Smith is the perfect compliment to KB and Cam's big arm. Get excited about having Bersin on the outside trying to outrun defenders.

That's what Gettleman and Rivera will be saying after they turn the TV on tonight. They probably forgot it was FA signing day.

Sam Bradford + picks traded to Philly for Nick Foles

Dude, Ed Dickson, come on. -
I doubt he would be on any other team in the NFL. He is on the team because of his college and being JR's neighbor, and that's it. He had a few good catches, but he's pretty slow and we need speed. He shouldn't be on the active roster. KB/FA signing/draft pick/ Brown/Ginn/Cotchery is already a bit too much, and he won't be better than any of them. I get it's a "feel good story" and we love those as well as training camp heroes, but let's get over the nonsense.

Ted Ginn Jr agrees to 2 year deal with Panthers
Zaximus replied to jamos14's topic in Carolina Panthers
Good move. Like others have said though, this shouldn't mean we are finished with WR help. We need a more #2 for KB. Sign and draft one is what needs to happen I think. Now I won't hold my breathe during returns anymore, phew. -
He's not. He's only 30 and for a one year rental, not bad. His game isn't really built on speed anyway. That being said, I'd like a speed guy still. Torrey Smith would still be nice. There is a ton of WR's out there now, so the market should be decent. I still wouldn't be mad at getting someone like Marshall. Regardless, we should still draft a WR in the 1st/2nd to compliment the upgrade we sign (and we better sign one).
-
It's possible his agent looks at our team and realizes we're a couple playmakers away from a legit team since the defense is for real. Even with Shula calling plays (gasp) we can do some damage. He'll probably have a larger role here too as a #1, because KB is not #1 material just yet. Sign him, draft a WR in the 1st/2nd still, sign Ginn or Jacoby and go in with a core of AJ/KB/draft pick/Philly/Ginn or Jones. Guess we're stuck with Cotchery as well.

Panthers Final Decision On Hardy : No Thanks
Zaximus replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
Those teams have good coaches and competent owners though. We have neither. -
Brian Hartline and Chris Canty to be released
Zaximus replied to Mr Mojo Risin's topic in Carolina Panthers
I could definitely see Canty coming in, I think he was close to signing with us a couple years ago if I remember but Ravens offered more money. Seems like a high character guy that does charity work down here, it makes sense. -
Ted Ginn leaning towards going home to Cleveland
Zaximus replied to nctarheel0619's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yes because the rest of us seen a very slow player that couldn't really catch the ball that well (and would make mistakes often as well). Bersin is not a returner and shouldn't be asked to. -

Zaximus replied to nctarheel0619's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah obviously he doesn't care about being on a winning team or being an actual WR. This is bad news, because if we don't land him or Jacoby we're back to the worse ST in the league. And before someone says "just draft someone" that is far from a proven science, if Joe Adams, Ryne Robinson, etc have proven. -
D Will says Panthers didn't reach out to him when his mother died
Zaximus replied to QCkilla's topic in Carolina Panthers
But yeah this was blown out of proportion to be honest. -

Such a cancer Hardy is for showing up to a team mates funeral when no one else did. -
Man, I've tried to forget the Diop years thanks for reminding me.
