Can something be done about this referee bias against the Panthers?
*FreeFua* replied to Shocker's topic in Carolina Panthers
Seriously lol -
good thread. Olsen recently talked about this as well. Like Palmer said, guys like Stroud and Daniels ruin it for everyone else. I think McCarthy getting hurt was beneficial to him so he could sit this year. Penix sitting behind Cousins will only benefit him. I’m at the point where I truly believe these kids need to sit coming out of college for a year or two. Id be more willing to kick the tires on a guy like Zach Wilson now having sat for a year and being around Sean Payton. Zach was clearly always talented and watching Rodgers stink it up now in NY in the same offense only helps Wilson’s case I believe if not for the car accident Dalton would’ve started the rest of the year. If Dave and Dan still believe in Bryce (I’m not sure they do) they could still bring in another veteran next year and have Bryce sit. With the intention of playing Bryce in year 4. If they do draft someone in 2025 it better be with the intention of sitting him

Now that we’re probably picking in that 5-10 range give me Luther Burder We desperately need some damn speed at WR
-
Some of the plays he made on that last drive to tie up the game were ridiculous Probably the best of his career. He’s been really damn good this year I’ve always been a Baker fan. Might not win a Super Bowl with him but he can be a good QB if he’s not placed in a circus (Cleveland/Carolina)

He was very similar to Bryce in college in that he’d drop back and have all day to throw. Caleb is obviously a better athlete than Bryce but not some elite athlete by NFL standards. I assume the game will eventually slow down for him but who knows. Caleb is taking a crap load of sacks right now much like Bryce was. Sure some aren’t his fault but a lot are So many of Stroud’s college snaps were him getting to the top of his drop and getting the ball out. A lot of the times he was throwing guys open. Imo that’s what’s going to translate the most to early success.

Plus, I want Luther Burden so I rather us be at 6 or something Much like Miami when they took Waddle

At some point this team just needs to start winning and build some sort of confidence/momentum As much as I love a top 3 pick this team has picked high the last several years and it hasn’t done much So whatever. If we couldn’t beat the Saints and Giants then no top 3 pick us saving us anyways

I guess the silver lining to this one is that this loss will really help our draft position considering all the 2 win teams

Seriously

We have so much “development” happening right now it’s too much A brand new HC who was hired after 1 year of being an OC a 2nd year QB who had a historically bad 1st year 2 rookie WR’s who’ve combined for 3 drops today a rookie tight end It’s a lot. There’s going to be moments of excitement but man that’s a whole lot of learning mistakes to go around for an entire group trying to figure it out

I’ve seen all I need to see from Canales
-
Dane Jackson is ass
-
Play action with Ian Thomas as the main option… Dave Canales might be a bigger issue than Bryce at this point
-
Where did Craft say this? Because I believe it
-
This is my main issue with Bryce. He doesn’t have any control of the crappy situation he’s been put in but he has total control of going to the gym and adding some much needed muscle and it doesn’t look like he’s spent a single day in the gym since we drafted him Take advantage of the things you have control over.
-
I’m not convinced it’s what we were led to believe it was
-
If the last 2 weeks were Young’s first games in the NFL I’d have been pretty content Its tough to forget those first 18 games but he finally did things these last 2 weeks I’ve been waiting 18 games to see So it’s a start Dan Morgan doesn’t strike me as the chess type but the whole committed thing could just be him knowing we’re going to have a top 5 pick again and if Bryce continues to flirt with this whole improvement thing then you might as well ride this out into the draft and potentially get someone to pick a QB in front of you

BREAKING:Panthers re-sign Chuba Hubbard
*FreeFua* replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
This was more about keeping a guy around that has the right work ethic and leadership qualities than anything else We’re legit dog poo and trying to establish some sort of identity around here. Like I said, sucks that Chuba plays RB because it’s not a position you invest in but you absolutely want to invest in guys like Chuba who work their asses off to improve every season -
BREAKING:Panthers re-sign Chuba Hubbard

Hate investing this much into the RB position but with where we’re at we need guys like Chuba around. It’s unfortunate he plays the position he does but we lack culture/identity and Chuba’s made progress every year he’s been here I’m good with it -
I agree with your take He’s made a couple throws these last two games with some big time anticipation. Which was supposed to be one of his strengths coming into the league. Bryce has taken more shots downfield as well. Even just throwing a couple up to Sanders this past Sunday that led to positive gains. One by completion the other by PI. Bryce wasn’t doing those things last year. There’s for sure been progress made but again small sample size. Like you said about the screens to counter the blitzes I think we saw some similar calls in Denver where the play design wasn’t to get a first down but just to get the ball out quick and not have Bryce take a sack or get hit. I think his personal life/gf situation was playing a bit of role early this season as well. Bryce was smiling throughout the game on Sunday and I don’t remember ever seeing that before. Hopefully he just starts playing more freely and we’ll see what happens. The quickest way for us to become competitive again is for Bryce to be who they had hoped he’d be. Do I think that’ll happen? No but after the last 2 games I’m at least semi excited to see what happens this Sunday

Coker was dealing with a shoulder injury Sunday but came back into the game Moving forward though, David Moore should not be on the field if Coker isn’t. Moore adds nothing but he’s one of Canales’ guys. Only reason he even made this team to begin with
