  1. Johnson left a lot of room between him and the boundary. There was no need to use all of it and force Johnson to make a helluva catch. I mean, Young just had one of the worst rookie seasons in history. Of course there’s going to be criticism headed his way. Young’s deep ball has always been a concern. Accuracy and lack there of. Teams weren’t respecting anything deep last year and that plays a massive role in limiting an offense. So this deep ball thing is kind of a big deal especially in todays NFL
  2. I explain to you what’s happening and nothing in here is football related. Not surprised
  3. At some point you need to realize you’re making daily excuses for Young. Yesterday it was 2.7 seconds isn’t enough time to take a deep shot. It is. Clearly because here it is. Today it’s a LB in his face. Jewell runs out of the way and Wallace pulls up. It’s practice. No one is hitting Young and he knows that. Im glad he chucked it up but his deep ball accuracy is something even parts of the pro Bryce crowd is questioning and a throw like that isn’t great
  4. Johnson has steps on this guy. There is no reason for this ball to be thrown so far outside. This should be a touchdown Some of you are so desperate to convince yourselves that Bryce is the guy. That’s fine. I get it. It sucks when the Panthers suck. But don’t get all pissy when obvious things get pointed out
  5. Which is also something I’m seeing a lot of
  6. A good ball there and it’s 6. I mean at least he threw it deep but I don’t know what his deal is with throwing these sidelines deep balls out of bounds
  7. I wanted Rattler too but there was no way they were drafting someone that would immediately come in and push Bryce for the starting job
  8. Of course. Any deep ball will most likely have some air under it (obviously). Bryce doesn’t really have the arm strength to wait 3-4 seconds then take a deep shot. He’s more of a drop back, gather and launch it. Which at Bama was enough time for a guy like Jamo to create separation. He needs to understand NFL open is different. Also most of Young’s deep shots in college were in the middle of the field where Jamo usually had a couple steps on his guy. We saw Young struggle a lot last year when targeting guys down the sidelines and often didn’t even give his guy a chance. Bryce hasn’t had a guy like XL before. If Bryce is waiting on XL to get “Bama open” he’ll be waiting forever. I really just want to start seeing him throw balls to XL and give him a chance. Allow him to use his body like he did with that one pass from Dalton in camp that the Panthers put out on Twitter. You might as well start working on the chemistry part during camp when interceptions don’t matter
  9. Canales says 2.7 because he doesn’t want Bryce standing around after going through his progressions
  10. 2.7 seconds is enough time to take a deep shot period. Have you not ever seen a QB drop back and let it rip? I’m pointing out the fact that the average time to throw is 2.4/2.5 and you’re pretending like 2.7 prevents us from doing anything other than short passes. It doesn’t.
  11. https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2023/11/2/23942644/comparing-pocket-time-between-patrick-mahomes-and-tua-tagovailoa#:~:text=Per Pro Football Reference%2C "pocket,2.4 seconds to 2.5 seconds. 2.7 seconds isn’t the reason he isn’t throwing deep
  12. You can’t count 1v1’s Into this equation. 1v1’s leave him literally no choice. When he has the choice he doesn’t go deep. Maybe you’re thinking about the attempt to Thielen? Where Horn catches up while ball in air But yeah, 2.7 seconds is still enough time to go deep. Getting the ball out quick doesn’t mean it HAS to be thrown short
  13. What deep passes are you talking about? I have not seen anything about a 55 yarder? and this whole 2.7 second excuse is already getting old. 2.7 seconds gives you enough time to throw deep. Hell, you wait much longer and you’ll need to be able to chuck it 60 air yards to catch up to a WR
  14. Plummer is supposed to get lots of reps during these pre season games. I don’t think we’re in a position to just be wasting reps after last season. Especially at QB I really wished they would’ve made a move for Howell or Fields
  15. Same. There’s no way they’re looking to bring in anyone that could potentially threaten for the starting job. Which basically means they need to find a Plummer-level type or the 3 guys you mentioned. I’d personally like to see them bring in someone a bit more mobile.
  16. https://x.com/houstontexans/status/1819183543089582265?s=46&t=W75E23VenL1ei42iX22E5g This is the kind of energy I miss having at QB. It’s important imo
  17. The panthers posted a clip of one of Young’s completions to Johnson. Zavala was in at LG on this particular play. So it would seem he was getting work with the 1’s. How much? I have no idea. I’m having a hard time figuring out why he was getting any snaps with the 1’s
  18. Little to no coverage tonight. Other than Newton I don’t think anyone else made the trip
  19. He turns around to try and locate the ball because it’s underthrown and off to the side. There’s no other reason for Mingo to fully spin around like that these are 1v1’s… it is damn near impossible to have a miscommunication. I’m sure it was a simply go and Mingo had position inside and Bryce threw outside for whatever reason This was what we saw last year where he didn’t even give his guys a chance. The ball would land a few yards out of bounds
  20. Go to 2:24 Bryce deep ball to Mingo in 1 v 1’s I just don’t know how you miss like that in 1v1’s as an NFL QB
  21. They do mention Brees but said he’s 1 of 1. Said it would take awhile for Bryce to get there. Which is fair. Brees became Brees due to understanding coverages and throwing to spots. If Bryce were to ever reach that ceiling would it still be with the Panthers? I don’t know if Tepper is patient enough. I personally think this season is a big one for Bryce. If the Panthers were banking on him becoming Drew Brees while acknowledging anything short of that probably results in him being a bottom third(?) QB in the league then that’s a crazy bet to make when deciding whether or not to draft a kid 1st overall. like you said, it’s his deep ball that MUST improve. It would open up so much for him. It’s why I’m wanting to see him throw deep in camp so badly. Seems like Canales is going to try and get Bryce out of the pocket more. Which will open things up. He’s good at keeping his eyes downfield. He’s capable of running. If he added a deep ball that defenses had to respect on top of those two things… we’d have something I agree. The Saints had such a well rounded roster. They had talent everywhere and should’ve won another SB. It was Brees arm that held that team back from winning another SB
  22. Compared him to Andy Dalton. Said It would’ve been fine to draft Bryce late 1st/early 2nd and then take advantage of his rookie contract Like a few of us have mentioned they then go on to say the problem with these types is when it comes time to paying them Once that Tua cap hit starts coming into play I think Miami will be toast. The problem is you build these super teams around some of these guys and they look good enough that teams are afraid to move on from them. How do you sell a fan base on moving on from a QB while you’re going to the playoffs. If Bryce’s ceiling is somewhere between Purdy/Tua is it possible to win a SB with him? I personally don’t see it
