That was Miles Sanders-esque by Gibbs

If you remove fandom it honestly makes sense. We have a terrible owner, a bad roster, and we're tied to a QB that leaves a lot to be desired. WFT has draft assets, a better roster, and no Tepper. I hate it because I think he'll be a good coach.

Tony Pauline: Campen was Tepper's "eyes and ears"

Welp - guess I need to add Campen into the Panthers Game of Thrones -
Tony Pauline: Campen was Tepper's "eyes and ears"

It's wild to me that one of Tepper's rats is the same dude coaching one of the absolutely worst units on the team. If I did my job as poorly as Campen did last season, I'd duck every time my boss came nearby. I wonder if this reporting has anything to do with Dave & Nicole always observing OL practice? -

100% We should've known when Tepper bought the team that winter was coming.

Dude - I tried to think of who could be Jon Snow but unless a coach/player comes in from humble beginnings to change the direction of the franchise I don't know who it would be. Jon Snow was actually the second character I tried to make.

Possibly. I was trying to think about the fact that Tepper is eventually going to scapegoat him for something that he does because Tepper asked him to, so Ned seemed like a reasonable choice.

I keep seeing references to the Panthers' Game of Thrones this offseason and I couldn't help but imagine Jim Caldwell as Lord Varys. I decided to photoshop a few other folks who are vying for the iron throne. Lord Varys - Jim Caldwell Nicole - Cersei Lannister Dan Morgan - Ned Stark (aka we know he's getting set-up and killed, we just don't know when) Tepper - The Mad King

I think you're spot on @Mr. Scot - which doesn't bode well for the future of a franchise we all love.
-
Bottom line - as @Waldo and others have pointed out is that the trade should have never been made. The fact that there were questions about each of the top prospects combined with multiple acknowledgements that the trade was made before the Panthers knew who they'd pick just reeks of incompetence. You only pay that kind of price if you have conviction that your guy is there. I think outliers are outliers for a reason. Not to say it can't be done, but there's a reason 5'10 NFL QBs are anomalies. IMHO, for Bryce to be successful he needs to be in a perfect scenario with surrounding personnel, scheme, etc. That's a high bar to be successful, much less be a franchise QB. IMHO Bryce's peak will approach post-injury Teddy. If Tepper forces a potential coach to fully commit to Bryce, we'll end up with someone who will likely be gone in 24-months. TLDR: All aboard the Tepper train. Choo choo mother fuggers

Late to the party, but I'd say the WCW comparison may have been accurate under Richardson, but under Tepper we're more like juggalo professional wresting - just a total clown show.

May be an unpopular opinion but this dude is one of my least favorite players. When I watch him play, it seems like he disappears for long stretches. After yesterday, he basically confirmed what I see.

Have seen reports that the final straw was when he ran into Nicole's office, grabbed her purse and ran off screaming that he didn't know her.

"You know, I've been told I'm a savant at play calling. Have you ever thought about running straight towards the DB, and then stopping and running back towards the LOS? I call it a fake-a-roo, because you fake out the DB and get more room. You should try it this Sunday."

game day thread....just in case you're watching
jimfear replied to rayzor's topic in Carolina Panthers
This is the worst franchise in football. Absolutely horrible. I can't understand how Fitt still has a job unless Tepp is the one making all the picks. -
I think Person was too generous to Fitterer in the article. He gives him credit for extending Donte Jackson and for signing Pineiro. IMHO the Jackson signing was a mistake given his injury history and streaky play. He lucked into Pineiro after signing Zane Gonzalez, who seems to have the same trainer as Jaycee Horn. He also gives him credit for Corbett, who has been good, but fails to mention signing Cam Erving and Pat Elflein at the start of the 2021 FA period, who were not good.

Panthers releasing Justin Houston… what a great signing
jimfear replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
It has to be way easier to list good things that Scott Fitterer has done than to list all the bad things. What an incompetent buffoon.
