  1. I think with expectations like that you just set yourself up for disappointment. The guys getting paid lots of money to evaluate QBs passed over him 2+ times. I get you’re high on him, I like him too. Just think it’s unreasonable to expect him to start day 1. To think he’s capable of it, ok. But I will be happy if he just looks good in preseason and is able to beat out Darnold for the backup job.
  2. Benjamin was a fat lazy fug, but also screw the refs for not calling it down immediately as it obviously was.
  3. Pretty sure Wilson started behind Matt Flynn and Tavaris Jackson. He was so good in camp that he made the decision easy to move him up the lineup, then they traded Jackson just before the season and made Flynn the backup. I absolutely hope Corral can do the same thing, that would be incredible. But for every Wilson there are hundreds of guys who never pan out, so to expect Corral to show that much this early is unreasonable. Wilson is a likely hall of famer... There’s a reason he was able to win the job and he’s proven it over the course of his career.
  4. Of course it won’t lol there were like 6 teams back then. Russell was a tremendously important figure for sports, civil rights, etc. Wilt was wayyyy better than him though. RIP big guy
  5. For those who are new to the game or just like finding things to complain about, it’s completely normal for Corral to be starting out as 3rd string and getting the equivalent reps. The Steelers, a model franchise, have a top 20 pick starting with 3rd string reps, behind QBs pretty similar to ours. Baker is probably better than Mitch and Rudolph a bit better than Sam but overall a very similar situation. Baker/Mitch fine stopgaps but those other guys obviously have nothing to offer. Yet the Steelers seem poised to keep Pickett 3rd string throughout camp. I get it, there’s plenty of things to not like about Rhule, I’m not a fan either. But a late day 2 rookie walking into significant reps in training camp just doesn’t happen. Even a top 20 pick for one of the best run franchises in the league isn’t gifted those reps. The NFL has guys pay their dues, it’s just the way it is. In time his reps will increase and he will be able to develop. Just like Pickett will for the Steelers.
  6. Something about Corral already feels way different (better) than most QBs we’ve had come through here. I kinda see him having at the very least a Minshew-esque career eventually. Hopefully better than that and soon, but not ideal having his reps limited behind Sam...
  7. Moore is underrated but most of those guys above him are quite a bit better so far. McLauren at 2 years older and not as good with a higher contract though… oof skins, bad contract
  8. That was a beauty of a throw across his body while running. No denying Baker has upside and can make plays, just needs the consistency. Either way though he’s 100% a big upgrade on Darnold, and any other QB we’ve had since Cam’s shoulder fell apart.
  9. Hard to evaluate points against when our offense gave other teams the ball several times per game, couldn’t sustain drives at all, and our ST play was terrible. I think our defense was great last year overall. Yes we gave away some leads but I think that was in large part because the D would get tired late in games having been on the field so much. We lost some players on D too though so we’ll see how they do this year. I’m optimistic about that side of the ball in general. Rhule and overall coaching along with QB play are my main concerns this year. OL should at the very least be average, likely above average and possibly elite. McCaffrey’s health is another key X factor. Him behind this line should make Baker’s job much easier.
  10. nah I get it’s not ideal that he’s not 100% by now and that he missed a bunch of his rookie year but there’s just no reason to worry that he’s injury prone right now. CMC obviously yes he’s injury prone. Gronkowski? Luke with the concussions? Yeah. But until Horn has any other injuries he’s no different than a guy like Brady or Manning who each have had 1 serious injury in their entire careers and no other issues.
  11. Ok and if he gets more different injuries then you can call him injury prone. Until then it’s pointless and stupid to do so.
  12. This concerns me about as much as Dez to the Aints did a few years ago. There’s a reason he was still unsigned at this point in the off-season…
  13. I went with a Ranger with the Tremor package, also waiting for warranty to run out to tune it. I was surprised by how much juice this little truck has… thought about a regular f-150 but the ranger was much cheaper than a similarly spec’d 150 and I can live with a mid size for a few more years at least. Will probably keep it as a fun truck anyways when I need something bigger
  14. Same, was in the market for a new truck last year and wanted a Raptor but had no interest in paying MSRP +10-20k on an already overprice truck and waiting for it too. Great truck, have a few buddies with them, but not worth the cost unless you have money to blow. Obviously Shaq can more than afford it lol
  15. Raptor's are a different "F-150 group..." the 1%
  16. Well considering we've seemed to be very good/competitive for like the last 4 years in September/early October I'd say we need more time than that to determine anything. I'm still pretty shook by how absurdly bad we've been in the 2nd half of seasons the last 4 years. Just embarrassing season collapses after getting our hopes up.
  17. Lol what have the Vikings done with Cousins to be in a position to trash talk any team in the league. I'd take Baker at $5M over Cousins at his cap hit 100 times out of 100. Darnold was a mistake as was Teddy. Neither was as big or long term of a mistake though as Cousins in MN. They are stuck in purgatory with him.
  18. Such a shame, Tepper needs to stay hands off and trust his GM & HC. If he can't trust them (Rhule) then replace them (let Fitterer hire a HC).
  19. Headline implied they'd be on at the same time which would be weird. Sounds like they are back to back
  20. I really wanted to but unfortunately don't think I'll make it this year, just incredibly busy the next month or so. If I was local I'd be there but just can't fit a trip from Boston in this year. Last time I went was 2018, had a blast then hanging out with the Riot and still having some hope for the season after a solid 2017 and Shula being fired. Little did I know what the next 4 years would look like... Hopefully it's still at Wofford next year and we're coming off a successful season, that'll probably get me out there again.
  21. People are reading WAY too much into this. It's a scouting report based solely on their college tape. Baker has already shown to be a lot better in the NFL than McAdoo thought he would be and if Ben didn't want him at this point I highly doubt Baker would be here right now. Plenty of coaches/scouts opinions will change on players after they've seen them in the NFL and plenty of them are significantly wrong on their college scouting reports.
  22. Henderson was a top 10 pick by JAX we traded for last year, it cost us a mid rounder but we didn't draft him there... I'm optimistic about his future with Wilks coaching him and he's young with insane upside, but he was not that good last year in my opinion. Horn is an absolute stud and I think will be the best corner we've ever had. Hopefully no more injuries for him. Jackson is underrated and a very good #2 across from Horn. Chinn back at SS should be a stud difference maker. I like the Woods signing but FS is still a bit of a weak spot. We're paying him as a fringe starter/backup so I don't expect him to be a world beater back there. Fortunately we probably won't need him to be. Depth at CB if any of our top 3 get hurt is a bit of a concern too. Otherwise yeah I really like our secondary this year.
