  1. Cam adding to his Hall of Fame rushing TD numbers. Nice run
  2. Teams were interested in him as a HC after last season so of course he has plenty of interest despite a rough go of it this year. I still think he can be a bright offensive coach in this league but he has a long way to go. Hope he doesn't go back to NO.
  3. You know what guys. I've given up on the season and had been thinking we should just lose out for draft position and for coaching staff changes, but screw that there's no QBs we need to tank for in this draft and we can get one even if we're middle of the pack. I want back to back fuging winning seasons so I'm rooting for 9-8 at least so that next year that milestone is possible.
  4. Whatever coach we get will need a QB to succeed here. Carroll has at least proven he can have consistent, sustained success in this league AND win a championship.
  5. If Carroll is out of Seattle and doesn't retire I want him here. Proven track record.
  6. I believe Detroit is still technically mathematically alive for a playoff spot... so no we’re not close to being mathematically eliminated yet
  7. I disagree. There are plenty of moves we've made that have indicated rebuild the past 2 years. Other than QB which is a unique situation we also haven't brought in any high priced FAs which is what teams looking to contend immediately do. The real big issue is that half the moves we're making are for a rebuild and the other half of the moves are to compete/contend now, along with just completely mismanaging the QB position. Our moves conflict with each other and just create a jumbled mess with big holes and then players/cap hits on the team that don't line up with our timeline and also a dearth of draft capital for a team that should be rebuilding. Also, I actually don't think our roster is that bad, I think it's actually pretty close. D isn't 100% set but it's easily good enough to contend if our offense and QB were better. The offense has been more of a mess than it ever was under Shula (granted he had prime Cam for most of his years). OL and QB are really the only big holes, and yes those are massive holes. Coaching is the bigger issue than the roster right now as they've looked completely lost the last month+ for the most part.
  8. Just throwing this out there but be prepared for it... As the smoke blows away in the coming years, there's a chance Gruden is given another chance in this league. And there's a chance it could be Tepper giving him that chance.
  9. I'd still give Rhule the start of next year but with a very short leash. Even if we were to lose out this year (which we likely will, and should).
  10. Aints have an elite coach in play and their D is solid. I think our roster has more potential/upside and is closer but coaching is 100% in their favor right now unfortunately. If the Aints landed Wilson or Rodgers I think they'd be immediate contenders. Really hope they can't do that but reports are that they'll try.
  11. @Jeremy Igo can we please set up the Huddle to change Taysom Hill to Taylor Hillsom. Like The Golden Calf of Bristol
  12. Taylor Hillsom is his real name.
  13. Realistically none of those make sense for us. Watson is either a risk of not playing or if he's cleared the price is way too high for a team with as many holes as we have. Only chance would be if Texans would consider McCaffrey a core piece in the trade and we'd be open to moving him. Unlikely on both counts. Cousins isn't that great yet is getting paid as a top QB and he really does not fit our timeline. Wilson and Rodgers don't fit our timeline and will want to go to contenders. Jimmy G sucks, maybe I'd consider him for relatively cheap as a stopgap if he's cut, but wouldn't give up any assets for him or take him on his current deal.
  14. Let's please not go all in on any QB this year like we have the past 2. Don't need more QB dead cap in 2023... I like the idea of drafting QB(s) and getting Mariota for short and/or cheap as a bridge QB, but please no more sizeable deals to retread QBs. It's worked out so great the last 2 years.
  15. Phenomenal season. More Cam than Rivera though if you ask me. I honestly believe Cam's peak in that 2015 season is one of the greatest all time QB seasons ever, he literally carried trash around him on offense to the SB and being the best offense in the league. I take that season from Cam over any single season from Tom Brady in his entire career -- even his MVP seasons he had elite OLs/weapons and coaching. Cam's success in 2015 was as single-handed as it can get in this sport. And Rivera's shortcomings in adjusting were a large reason we lost the SB. Refs were bad but we also got mostly handled by a much lesser team. Even if we win that year I don't think it changes the narrative all that much, there have been other SB winning HCs who are widely regarded as not being that great. Reality is, Rivera had 3 good seasons here out of 9, never had back to back winning seasons and was on the downtrend at the end.
  16. Ron had worn out his welcome here and still hasn't accomplished a thing in Washington. Great guy, but he's highly unlikely to ever be a SB winning HC. We had to move on.
  17. There are several factors in our offenses struggles lately. Cam not knowing the offense since he just got here a few weeks ago, OL, etc. But fact of the matter is that anyone who has watched Cam the last several years can see that his throwing shoulder is not stable at all. He cannot drive an offense with his arm at this point. He has some solid passes but way too many of them are completely off the mark, and it's not just normal inaccuracies that any QBs have, it's his arm clearly being unable to consistently throw accurate balls. It's tough to see and his energy and return were a welcome sight after Sam, but Cam is absolutely not the answer at QB going forward.
  18. At this point in his career, he’s not. It’s the reality. His arm his shot and his passes are way too inconsistent.
  19. WOW you listed a bunch of hall of famers. Of course there are more complete players. Burns' skill set is pure pass rusher. Need to scheme around his deficiencies against the run. He's one of the most impactful players on our D. He is absolutely NOT an issue. Is he an elite all around DE? No. But he's an elite pass rusher and has an important role in this D.
  20. It really doesn't matter. PJ is not an NFL QB, Cam is not an NFL QB. Nothing we can do for the future at QB position this year and we obviously aren't winning any games.
  21. Done watching football this year for the most part (will still put the Panthers on but not really caring what happens). Canes and Hornets will get my attention.
  22. He's a pure pass rusher, we drafted him as such, and he's been one of the best in the league. His run D isn't great but that is what it is with an elite pass rusher. Von Miller was never good against the run. At least Burns gives it his all every fuging play, most of these other guys can not say the same.
