Carolina quietly cleared more cap with RA

Nothing would be dumber than giving up next years picks. If we did that then this regime has truly learned nothing. It’s this line of thinking that has brought us where we are. -
“Franchise QBs have no desire to sign with Carolina”

We still haven’t shed the bad karma from how we failed to protect our last franchise QB. Cam may have forgiven us but the football gods aren’t as understanding… -
David Tepper - Come on in here and get this humble pie
firefox1234 replied to TheWiz's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think Pickett is the pick too. A rookie QB with Rhule’s Temple connections, Tepper’s alma matter, and being a heisman finalist make perfect narratives to spin their cover their ass story. -

I think this is the general consensus but unless Tepper is saying this season upcoming season is a wash and has assured Rhule he gets a year 4 I dont see it happening. Rhule will do what it takes to stay alive within his powers, which is hard to do if he rolls with Sam. We can only hope Tepper doesn't let him throw the kitchen sink in order to save his skin.

It’s gonna be Pickett now. Temple connection and Tepper’s alma matter. It’s written in the stars.

This x100. Getting Darnold for that price let alone the price we got Teddy for as well is pure incompetence. There is no reasonable excuse for them. Rhule, Tepper, and co. deserve all the heat coming at them.

Rhule already has 4 losses on his record. We’re half way there!

Baker Mayfield Requests Trade from Browns + UPDATE

The upside in all this that’s another two losses for Rhule. With Brady back in Tampa he’s already at 0-4. We’re half way there.

Can you blame them? You have a 4 to 5 year window if you draft a rookie QB before they swallow the majority of your cap. If he is not a Rodgers, Brady, Brees, ie elite then it makes it hard to justify paying the huge money for an “okay but not elite” guy instead of swinging for the fences again. What exacerbates this line of thinking is that the modern NFL favors offense. It’s tough to build a 86 bears D or 2000 ravens, especially if the QB you have is short of elite and swallowing your cap as the Rams figured with Goff.

As evident in the past two years..

Hurney, is that you?

I wonder if we are able to nab any of the two top pass rushers(assuming they fall)we might be able to trade Burns to move back into the first round for an OL.
-
Our best hope is to keep drafting rookie QBs till we get our guy.

Pretty much my mindset. I’ve seen this team lose more than win so more of the same is hardly debilitating.

Looking at what guys like Gallup and Kirk got I’m starting to think DJ is as good as gone….
